About the Role

As the Warehouse Operations Manager, Optimization, you will lead high-impact initiatives that improve how our warehouse operates, with a focus on systems, process improvement, facilities, and vendor performance. You will serve as a key operational subject matter expert for our Warehouse Management System (WMS), helping ensure system changes and implementations are thoughtfully coordinated, operationally sound, and successfully adopted by warehouse teams.

You will also own a portfolio of cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives designed to drive incremental gains in productivity, cost, quality, and operational effectiveness. This includes overseeing facilities and vendor partnerships, identifying opportunities to improve service or reduce costs, and leading a facilities leader who brings deep technical expertise to the day-to-day operation. Success in this role requires strong business judgment, the ability to anticipate operational needs, and the communication skills to know when to make a decision independently and when to engage the right partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead WMS readiness, implementation, and ongoing optimization as a key warehouse operations subject matter expert, partnering across Operations, technology, and other teams to translate operational needs, coordinate changes, identify risks, support testing and adoption, and ensure a seamless rollout for warehouse teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational optimization by using data, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving to identify opportunities, design solutions, and deliver measurable improvements in productivity, cost, quality, safety, and service.
  • Own facilities and vendor performance by overseeing facility operations through a direct-report leader, establishing clear expectations with vendors, evaluating service and cost, managing contracts and operating expenses, and identifying opportunities to improve partnerships or secure better solutions for the business.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects and change initiatives from problem identification through implementation, establishing clear plans, aligning stakeholders, anticipating dependencies and risks, communicating effectively across levels, and ensuring new processes, systems, and ways of working are successfully adopted.
  • Build organizational capability and improve how work gets done by developing and empowering direct reports, establishing effective operating routines and KPIs, and leveraging data, AI, and modern technology to improve analysis, decision-making, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Own facilities, vendor, and cost performance by overseeing facility operations through a direct-report leader; managing budgets, operating expenses, and cost performance; establishing clear expectations with vendors; evaluating contracts, service, and spend; and identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve terms, or deliver greater value to the business.

About You

This is what you’ll need to succeed in this role from day 1.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, process improvement, warehouse/fulfillment operations, facilities, or a related environment, with demonstrated success leading complex operational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including developing and empowering leaders or teams, setting clear expectations, providing actionable feedback, and driving accountability for results.
  • Strong project and change-management capabilities, with experience leading multiple cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation and delivering measurable operational improvements.
  • Experience working with warehouse or operational technology and the ability to become a strong operational subject matter expert for systems such as a WMS, including translating business needs, supporting implementation, and driving successful adoption.
  • Experience overseeing vendor relationships, contracts, operating expenses, and service performance, with the business judgment to identify opportunities for improved service, efficiency, or cost.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using operational data, KPIs, and root cause analysis to identify opportunities and make informed decisions.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across teams and organizational levels, anticipate business needs, and exercise sound judgment about when to make decisions independently and when to engage additional partners.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and change, balance multiple priorities, and translate broad business needs into clear plans and executable solutions.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or comparable tools, along with comfort learning and applying AI and emerging technologies to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Ability to support operational needs outside standard business hours, including nights or weekends, as business needs require.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with WMS implementations, migrations, or significant system/process transformations in a warehouse or fulfillment environment.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or other structured continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Experience overseeing facilities operations through a facilities leader or technical subject matter expert.
  • Experience identifying and implementing vendor or contract changes that generated measurable cost savings or service improvements.
