About the role

We are seeking an experienced Voice Director to oversee voice recording for our projects. You will ensure that the voice talent aligns with the characters' vision and maintain the recordings' quality and timeline.

In the role of Voice Director, you will report to the Manager, Voice Directing.

We are considering applicants for the location of Dallas, TX. This is an in-person position that requires you to be in the office 5 days/week.

Core Areas of Responsibility

  • Research assigned property/project to determine voice talent and gain understanding of the characters.
  • Cast talent through auditions and match voices to the vision of the characters.
  • Coordinate with the Talent Coordinators on booth assignments and compiling lists of voice talent.
  • Direct voice talent's performance in both technical (flaps) and emotional (reads) elements.
  • Read and understand ADR scripts and adapt to each voice session and actor.
  • Communicate with the ADR writers about project needs and rewrite lines/scripts during sessions.
  • Communicate with ADR staff and producers regarding episode status against assigned deadlines and goals.
  • Review episodes before mix and make necessary adjustments within assigned timeframe.
  • Review final mix within assigned timeframe
  • Communicate with the Assistant Voice Director concerning deadlines, goals, and the creative elements of the assigned episodes.
  • Review the content completed by the Assistant Voice Director and provide feedback.
  • Complete all administrative responsibilities related to the Voice Director role and maintain required system organization.
  • Help with recording and other special projects as assigned.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 2+ years of voice directing experience.
  • Experience reading ADR scripts.
  • Experience providing creative direction for voice talent, adapting characters for an English-speaking audience while preserving the original intent of the source material.
  • Experience leading, managing, or mentoring teams. 
  • Experience collaborating with actors, ADR Engineers, and Assistant Directors to provide clear guidance.
  • Familiarity with audio post-production and sound engineering is a plus.

About the Team

The ADR Production team creates the English-language dub tracks for our shows. Our goal is to produce outstanding creative content that delights and engages our audiences, partners, and team members. We are a creative group comprised of Audio staff, Voice Directors, ADR Writers, and support staff.
