About the Role
- Collaborate with vehicle testing teams, component owners, and customers to execute hardware test/validation plans.
- Maintain and improve the reliability of current vehicle autonomy systems, including all electrical and mechanical aspects of our autonomous sensing and actuation platform, as well as the base vehicle itself.
- Coordinate tools and resources needed for a timely debugging and resolution of issues; this includes understanding the relationship between various vehicle components and their interaction on the communication network.
- Prepare reports and documentation to guide future hardware design improvements, with a clear emphasis on vehicle integration within a software environment.
- Provide support for remote operation sites and deliver technical guidance for troubleshooting efforts.
- Understand advanced fault detection and reporting schemes in the automotive domain.
About the Work
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems or vehicles, preferably with exposure to CAN or automotive ethernet networks.
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical architecture, controlling mechanisms, and the integration process.
- Able to adapt quickly, think independently, and function effectively in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Ability to interpret wiring harness diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings in relation to vehicle networks (CAN, Ethernet, etc) and their interaction with other automotive systems.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering, product, and other teams.
About You
- 3+ years experience in Test planning and experimental design, especially designing for safety and repeatability.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant engineering or a related field (including ME, EE, CS, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace) or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with vehicle protocols, or vehicle harness design.
- Proficiency in Automation test frameworks.
- Understanding of autonomous driving vehicles, infrastructure, and operations.
Bonus Points
- 3 + years experience in data analysis and test scripting/automation experience (C/C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink).
- Understanding of NI Test systems
- Understanding of systems engineering principles such as defining requirements and formal verification and validation
- Experience in hands-on troubleshooting at circuit board and module system levels, including systems integrated within a Vehicle network
At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $132,300 and $198,450 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
