The Technical Program Engineer supports the Five9 Program Management Office (PMO) by providing technical engineering expertise to programs focused on automation, efficiency, and scalability, while also contributing to other technical initiatives as needed. This role bridges technical implementation and program execution, ensuring PMO initiatives are effectively designed, tested, documented, and operationalized.
In addition to program support, this role will serve as an overflow technical resource for GTM Operations, contributing to configuration, automation, and other engineering activities that enable scale and consistency across the GTM organization. The ideal candidate will have direct experience configuring the Five9 Intelligent CX Platform (ICP), strong technical depth, and familiarity with project management practices to ensure alignment with PMO methodologies and collaboration with Program and Project Managers.
Key Responsibilities
Program-Integrated Engineering
- Provide technical support and engineering expertise to PMO-led programs that drive automation, standardization, and
- Support additional PMO technical initiatives outside of core programs as required.
- Serve as an overflow resource to assist GTM Operations with configuration, automation, and related engineering
- Build, configure, and test automation frameworks, templates, and reusable scripts to enable efficiency at
- Translate program and project requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with Five9 product
Process & Services Catalog Support
- Assist in operationalizing PMO-developed processes and services, including technical ownership of select catalog
- Ensure technical deliverables meet governance, compliance, and program standards.
- Provide engineering support for complex or high-priority services under the PMO.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and best practices for PMO-developed solutions.
- Mentor teams and stakeholders on how to apply PMO automation and templates effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams (Professional Services, Sales, CS, TAM, Support) to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Program and Project Managers to align technical work with project timelines, milestones, and governance
- Participate in planning and pre-sales discussions when technical expertise is needed to scope PMO-related
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor adoption and performance of PMO-engineered solutions, recommending enhancements for efficiency and
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to inform roadmap and future capabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent work
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical, engineering, or program- support role within SaaS, Professional Services, or GTM
- Direct experience with configuration of the Five9 Intelligent CX
Platform (ICP).
- Strong knowledge of Five9 APIs and CRM integrations (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Dynamics, Zendesk, ).
- Hands-on experience developing IVR, workflows, and automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in scripting, process automation, and configuration of cloud-based platforms.
- Experience with AI-assisted IDEs (e.g., Cursor, Copilot), automation frameworks (MCP, RPA, or similar), and prompt engineering with AI agents.
- Proficiency in API integration, JSON, and structured data workflows; SQL familiarity
- Working knowledge of GitHub and CI/CD practices for lightweight deployments, with ability to make light edits to web
- Familiarity with project management practices, including structured methodologies, timelines, and
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to bridge program requirements and technical execution.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting cross-functional programs spanning multiple GTM functions.
- Knowledge of SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, networking, CTI, VoIP, IVR, and call center practices.
- Experience aligning technical execution with program-level
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in designing scalable technical solutions.
- Stakeholder management: ability to engage PMs, understand workflows, and translate them into automation.
- Change-management mindset: ability to design automations that integrate smoothly into daily PM
