About the team and role
The Financial Planning & Strategy (FP&S) team provides financial insight and partners with other leaders across our organization to achieve our long-term goals. We seek to intentionally deploy our resources, optimize our business performance, and drive the highest-impact outcomes.
We are looking for a Strategic Finance Senior Manager - SMB to be the strategic finance leader for our SMB business. We focus on strategic and financial planning, delivering actionable insights into business performance, and optimizing resource allocation to accelerate growth. This is a unique role. We have two go-to-market motions for SMB - 1.) Self-Serve (product-led growth) and 2.) Channel Partnerships. And you will be the strategic finance lead for both. One morning, you will partner with product, marketing, and data science to figure out how to create a new purchase experience for our self-serve customers. That afternoon, you may partner with business development on how to structure a large partnership deal. This role is highly visible, including regular meetings and updates with our executive team.
What you’ll do
- Ownership & Business Partnership: Serve as the primary finance partner to cross-functional leads across our Self-Serve (PLG) and Channel Partnerships businesses, including Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Data Science, building trusted relationships and influencing decisions with strategic financial insights.
- Strategy: Cultivate an ongoing POV of our existing and potential future strategic priorities. Quantitatively validate what could drive the highest revenue impact and ROI.
- Strategic Planning: Drive a considerable portion of our long-range and annual planning processes. Primary focus areas include defining aligned product and go-to-market initiatives that will yield our revenue and ROI goals.
- Investments: Buld the business case to determine the best investment of our current resources and to make investment requests to our executive team. Develop frameworks for how we evaluate and track investment success.
- Business Performance Management: Own recurring reporting and forecasting that provide a fundamental understanding of our Sales & Pipeline drivers and actionable insight into opportunities to improve business performance. Share your data-driven POV on business performance on a weekly basis with Leadership.
- Insights: Proactively deliver data-driven insights and recommendations that inform go-to-market tactics, product features & experiments, and other cross-functional roadmaps.
- Measurement: Define and evolve KPIs that best measure our business performance. Collaborate with our Data Analytics team to build predictive and automated analytics.
- Deal Structuring & Executive Approvals: Structure partnerships to mutually align incentives and economics. Example deal components include revenue-share, depth of product integration, and exclusivity. Own the business case and approval process when deal approvals are required by executive leadership.
- Pricing: Collaborate with our pricing strategy team to determine pricing for new products. Create pricing promotions and preferred partner pricing to drive improved customer acquisition and revenue outcomes.
- Planning: Drive the long-range and annual planning processes - defining strategic priorities, goals, OKRs, and budgets.
What you bring
- 8+ years in Strategic Finance/BizOps, including 4+ years of experience with self-serve (PLG) business models. Foundational experience in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting preferred. Experience with consumption-based business models is a meaningful plus.
- Proven track record of driving business outcomes through data analytics and financial insights.
- Demonstrated success driving go-to-market strategy, planning, and performance management.
- Expert-level modeling ability, translating complex business drivers into clear frameworks.
- Strong executive presence with proven ability to provide clarity and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
- Expert with SQL and BI tools.
- Experience in identifying business insights through analysis.
- Have a hustler mindset. You take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and problems to tackle.
- Thrive in an environment where you will be asked to own an ambiguous project that you have not done before.
What you get
- Learning and development allowance
- Competitive compensation and opportunity for advancement
- 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Up to $25K reimbursement for fertility, adoption, and parental planning services
- Flexible PTO policy
- Monthly wellness stipend, home office stipend
