The Team:
Pinterest Technical Program Managers are proactive owners with technical expertise. They are aligned to the highest level company priorities to support successful delivery of programs within their teams. The Foundations T/PgM Team is responsible for overall program governance in Infrastructure, Infra Finance, Data Engineering and Security, as well as Compliance and managing our cloud budget.
What you’ll do:
- As a Staff Technical Program Manager focusing on cross-engineering special projects, you will identify, scope, champion, and land key strategic projects important to advancing Pinterest’s platform and underpinning.
- Proactively identify and drive key strategic initiatives with technical domain owners to drive complex technical decisions across multiple teams.
- Translate strategic ideas into execution plans, and be accountable to drive them to completion.
- Execute at both breadth and depth. At breadth by understanding the big picture, and at depth by being comfortable driving nitty gritty details with multiple teams.
- Be a thought leader to your XFN stakeholders by influencing product roadmap during the annual & quarterly planning.
- Work cross functionally with Engineering, Security, Data Science, and Product, to turn ambiguous opportunities into actionable outcomes.
- Define new processes from ground up to streamline collaboration between stakeholders.
- Influence teams and build relationships with key stakeholders across disciplines and organizations.
- Build effective and transparent communication channels to adaptively communicate schedules, priorities, status and risk to various functional stakeholders at all levels of the company.
- Own the success of high-impact programs, ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes through rigorous planning, execution, and accountability.
- Mentor others and elevate organizational impact by creating and institutionalizing best practices, tools, and methodologies that advance program management across the company.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience as a technical program manager, or related experience.
- Have a track record of leading and delivering complex multi-year initiatives that span multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of cloud architectures, DevOps, and systems engineering principles.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership to identify and champion new initiatives, thriving in ambiguity and building programs from the ground up.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and mitigate risks through innovative approaches.
- Have a track record of successfully influencing executive leadership and representing program interests at the highest levels, providing thought leadership and input to critical decision-making.
- Ability to drive strategic vision by analyzing organizational context, anticipating future scenarios, and shaping program roadmaps to align with company-level strategy and OKRs.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and driving efficient scalable processes and best practices that enable organizational agility and operational excellence at scale
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills to influence, build consensus and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Foster an inclusive environment by valuing diverse perspectives, maintaining composure in adversity, and modeling courageous, resilient leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices: Zurich.
