Staff QA Engineer - Unpublished R&D Product

As a QA Engineer, you will work with numerous disciplines to drive quality ownership across the software development life cycle, as well as helping to establish and execute team wide quality goals. It will be important for you to aggressively protect the player experience and deliver results in a high pressure, agile development environment. You will also be accountable as the quality owner of an area or product in addition to identifying and implementing quality improvements to the team’s development process. Additionally, you may partner with and mentor remote QA teams to ensure features are delivered at a high quality bar. Lastly, you will identify and mitigate risks to feature delivery and product quality and craft data to report on the quality of the product and update partners.
As a Staff QA Engineer for an unpublished R&D product, you will lead development of quality assurance process standards for the project. You will collaborate with Rioters across the company to drive awareness and adoption of QA standards. You will be a key contributor to the creation and upkeep of learning and development content for the Riot QA University programs. You will partner with your team and other craft leaders to mature the craft tools provided to Riot by the Discipline Ops group. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager of QA.
Responsibilities:
- Triage, monitor, and prioritize the defect database
- Improve on methods of test execution at the initiative-level
- Continuously give feedback on content and code being developed
- Collaborate with different disciplines in order to push quality upstream by introducing quality practices across disciplines
- Author test plans and oversee the execution of test coverage
- Work with and collaborate with external QA vendors
- Use Quality Metrics to escalate major issues
- Provide visibility on QA progress to Team
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional Quality Assurance experience
- Experience designing and executing test plans
- Experience managing components of a defect database
- Experience tasking remote testers and providing feedback on effectiveness.
- Experience working embedded with developers and content creators
- Experience creating custom reports on test coverage and defect data
- Experience using creative problem solving to improve process
Desired Qualifications:
- Development experience across several platforms; mobile, console, and PC.
- ISTQB Foundation Level
- ISTQB Agile Tester or ICAgile Agile Testing (ICP-TST)
- ISTQB Expert Level
- ISTQB Advanced Test Manager
- ICAgile Test Expert (ICE-AT)
- Experience working with engineering-heavy teams
- Experience supporting technical areas (services, game engine, and tooling)
- Experience creating and executing performance test plans across multiple platforms
- Experience standing up consoles (tooling, certification, performance)
- Experience working with engineering to execute an effective automated test strategy
