Staff Analyst - Financial Planning Systems

The Technology, Data & Intelligence (TDI) team at Okta is crucial in transforming our business processes and driving operational efficiency through advanced technology. We are responsible for implementing and managing sophisticated solutions that support our global operations and strategic goals. Our Center of Excellence (COE) for Anaplan focuses on optimizing our planning and performance management capabilities, ensuring our decision-making is data-driven and precise.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Analyst - Financial Planning Systems to join our Business Technology team at Okta. This role requires extensive experience with Anaplan, deep knowledge of finance and FP&A processes, and expertise in Anaplan integration tools like Boomi and CloudWorks. The successful candidate will have strong experience in UX page design within Anaplan, management reporting, and proficiency with Anaplan’s Excel and Google Sheets add-ons. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex Anaplan solutions that drive business efficiency and effectiveness. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with finance teams, IT departments, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality Anaplan models and ensure seamless data integration. Knowledge of systems such as Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, Netsuite, Coupa, and Revpro is highly desirable. Due to the critical nature of this role, you will need to work with a few hours of overlap with US Pacific time hours for business-critical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Finance and FP&A Expertise: Apply strong knowledge of finance and FP&A activities to ensure Anaplan solutions align with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting requirements.
• Solution Architecture: Design scalable, secure, and efficient Anaplan architectures that address complex business processes, data models, and integration needs across finance and related domains.
• Design and Development: Lead the hands-on development, configuration, and maintenance of complex Anaplan models, ensuring adherence to COE standards, best practices, and performance optimization techniques.
• Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for production Anaplan models, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and continuous alignment with evolving business requirements.
• UX Page Design: Design and enhance intuitive and high-performing user interfaces within Anaplan, including dashboards, worksheets, and management reporting views, to drive strong user adoption.
• Integration Expertise: Implement and manage integrations between Anaplan and external systems using tools such as Boomi and CloudWorks, partnering closely with integration and data teams to ensure reliable data flow, validation, and reconciliation.
• Management Reporting: Design and implement robust management reporting solutions that provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making at multiple levels of the organization.
• Collaboration: Partner with finance teams, business stakeholders, and IT departments to gather requirements, provide architectural guidance, and deliver Anaplan solutions that drive measurable business value.
• Peer Review and Mentorship: Conduct peer reviews of Anaplan model design, calculation logic, UX, and performance optimization to ensure alignment with COE standards and best practices. Mentor and guide junior Anaplan developers by providing technical oversight, troubleshooting support, and knowledge sharing.
• Automation and Innovation: Leverage Anaplan platform automation features, integrations, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities to enhance planning, forecasting, and reporting efficiency. Continuously evaluate new Anaplan functionality and industry innovations to improve scalability, performance, and user experience.
• Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and deliver training sessions to support user adoption and effective use of Anaplan solutions.
• Best Practices: Drive adoption of Anaplan platform advancements, automation capabilities, and architectural best practices across the COE to continuously enhance solution quality and delivery standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 8–10 years of overall experience in IT, financial systems, or enterprise planning solutions, with at least 5 years of hands-on Anaplan experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale models.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Finance Expertise: Strong demonstrated knowledge of finance and FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Anaplan modeling, configuration, and implementation, with a solid understanding of architecture, data integration patterns, and performance optimization.
• Integration Tools: Proven experience integrating Anaplan with enterprise systems using tools such as Boomi and CloudWorks.
• UX Page Design: Extensive experience designing and optimizing Anaplan UX pages to improve usability and planning efficiency.
• Management Reporting: Strong capability in designing and delivering executive and operational management reporting solutions.
• Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, Netsuite, Coupa, and Revpro is highly desirable.
• Automation and AI Exposure: Experience leveraging automation, advanced analytics, or AI-enabled capabilities to improve planning, forecasting, or management reporting processes is highly desirable.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Certifications: Anaplan Certified Model Builder or Anaplan Solution Architect Certification is highly desirable.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Flexibility: Hybrid work model with two days per week in the Bangalore office and the ability to support overlap with US based stakeholders
