Sr. Technical Curriculum Developer - Data Warehousing/Analytics Engineering

As a Sr. Technical Curriculum Developer you’ll apply your expertise in data warehousing and analytics engineering, alongside a passion for enabling others, to lead the design and development of enablement content that showcases the cutting-edge and industry-disrupting features of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform for modern data professionals.

This is an opportunity for you to stay on top of Databricks latest and greatest features and to be the voice that enables our global customers, partners, and fellow Bricksters to make the best use of the Data Intelligence Platform. In this role, you’ll work with the Databricks product and engineering teams, subject-matter experts, and global stakeholders on taking product updates and best practices and creating high-impact technical enablement material in the form of instructor-led, self-paced, and blended offerings.

In terms of your day-to-day work, you’ll make a name for yourself at Databricks by being the point of contact for all things related to data warehousing/analytics engineering enablement. You’ll (1) regularly engage in SME and product meetings (2) work with our learning architecture team to fully understand business requirements for data warehousing and architecture content (3) oversee and design scalable learning offerings for the data warehousing/architecture portfolio and (4) work with a team of global stakeholders, product managers, engineers, SMEs, and other curriculum developers to build this content.

The impact you will have:

  • Serve as the trusted advisor/owner of data warehousing and data warehousing/analytics engineering enablement at Databricks 
  • Provide technical leadership to guide curriculum initiatives on modern data warehousing and Lakehouse architecture
  • Work with subject-matter-experts and learning architects to scope and build data warehousing/architecture enablement material to enable our global customers, partners, and employees

What we look for:

  • Passion/experience for sharing knowledge and expertise to enable others
  • 5+ years experience in a technical role with expertise in data warehousing - such as query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, data governance, debugging MPP data warehouses or other big data solutions, or migration workloads from EDW, CDW, or other systems
  • Experience with design and implementation of data warehousing technologies including relational databases, SQL, data analytics, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, and OLAP
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Experience scaling large analytical data workloads in the cloud that are performant and cost-effective
    • Maintained, extended, or migrated a production data warehouse system to evolve with complex needs, including data modeling, data governance needs, and integration with business intelligence tools
    • Experience migrating on-premise EDW workloads to the public cloud
  • Experience bridging the gap between data engineering and data analysis by transforming raw, siloed data into clean, documented, and reliable datasets for downstream users
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience through work experience
  • Production programming experience in SQL (expert level) and Python
  • Passion for collaboration, life-long learning, and driving business value through enablement 
  • 2 years professional experience with data warehousing and big data technologies (Ex: Snowflake, SQL, Redshift, SAP, Synapse, EMR, OLAP & OLTP workloads)
  • Can meet expectations for technical training and role-specific outcomes within 6 months of hire

 

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipated utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
