About the Team:
The Center for Data and Insights (CDI) is the centralized team of data engineering, BI, analytics, and data science experts, passionate about servicing the organization with timely and certified reports and insights! The mission of the group is to inspire, support, and guide our stakeholders to be data-aware as well as build out the systems of intelligence to discover insights and act on them.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager with a passion for managing the data engineering and insights program under the Center for Data and Insights (CDI) department. This position will report to the Director, Program Management, and will work closely with the CDI Leadership team, data engineers, analysts, and data scientists. Our goal is to help build a platform and a service that will be the trusted and unbiased source of timely data-based insights for Crunchyroll, while proactively recommending measures to enable better business decisions every day. The right person for this role is a service-minded, empathetic teammate who will be energized by the opportunity to program manage a centralized data and insights service team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Building and maintaining engaging, trusting relationships between global stakeholders..
- Project Management: Overseeing project execution, ensuring timelines are met, budgets are adhered to, and project scope is well-defined.
- Communication: Acting as the primary point of contact, communicating project progress and updates to stakeholders and internal teams.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
- Opportunity Identification: Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing stakeholders, potentially leading to expanded engagements.
- Team Leadership: Guiding and developing team members involved in stakeholder projects.
- Stakeholder Onboarding and Education: Ensuring new stakeholders are successfully onboarded and understand the value of the service/product.
- Business acumen: Understanding of business principles and how they apply to stakeholder engagements.
- Availability and Leadership skills: Being available during the US timezones to collaborate with stakeholders, and being able to guide team members in India is critical .
About You:
- 8+ years experience as project or program manager managing data analytics projects
- BS degree or equivalent experience required, MS degree preferred
- Scrum master certification; SAFe Certification is a bonus
- Ability to translate business needs into data & analytics request tickets and tracking them using Agile methodologies.
- Experience gathering and translating business analytics requirements into functional and technical specifications, and vice versa
- Demonstrated leadership, management & problem solving skills required, project-based management experience highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex personality, program, and business interest related issues
- Demonstrated success leading large projects and change management efforts, with the ability to define, communicate and implement the strategic direction of the business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including global distributed teams, Senior and C-level executives.
- Must be self-motivating, self-sufficient and have the strong ability to work effectively as an individual or as part of a team
- Ideal candidate is inquisitive, organized, detail-oriented and has a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills
- Proficient in both agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet and Google Suite
A Day in the Life of Our Engagement Manager:
- Oversees the day-to-day progress of projects and initiatives within the CDI team with regard to schedule, scope, and process - and prioritizes information so it’s digestible for a globally distributed team
- Tracks key milestones, risks, and builds comprehensive project plans using standardized templates
- Effectively communicates regular updates to all partners on all CDI initiatives; provides visibility of CDI processes and progress to all team members, and demonstrates ability and willingness to share information and knowledge
- Builds effective partnerships across technical and business communities
- Serves as a key liaison with the rest of the functional groups to facilitate planning and collaboration between teams, align on goals, identify dependencies, and mitigate risk
- Works with minimal supervision and applies Agile project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations
- Establishes and maintains processes for the CDI team in conjunction with the larger Program Management Office
- Acts as subject matter expert for CDI team and takes initiative to ask questions and offer solutions
- Able to work off-cycle hours with globally distributed team(s)
