About the Role:

As the Sr. Manager, Finance & Business Operations Manager of Europe you will be a critical member of the wider Europe team, working directly with the Europe leadership team to drive Flexport's most important strategic initiatives. This is a high-impact role for an exceptional individual who thrives on solving complex problems and executing with precision. You will be deployed to go deep on a variety of key focus areas to drive our Europe and company wide strategic goals.

We are looking for a driven and relentless professional with a track record of success in demanding environments such as transaction services, management consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth startup. This is a unique opportunity to apply your strategic and analytical skills in a hands-on environment, with a direct path to becoming a future leader at Flexport.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Project Leadership: Own and drive a portfolio of high-priority, cross-functional projects. This could involve everything from conducting a strategic review of a product line to leading a process to design and implement a new reporting and operating structure for the Europe region.
  • End-to-End Problem Solving: Take on ambiguous business challenges, frame the problem, conduct rigorous analysis, and develop and implement data-driven solutions with stakeholders across the company.
  • Executive-Level Communication: Synthesize complex data and insights into clear, concise presentations for the senior leadership team.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Act as a force multiplier, building consensus and driving alignment with leaders across the company's product, engineering, sales, and operations teams without direct authority.
  • Finance and Strategic Planning: Own the annual planning process, from establishing the annual goals, through to execution and tracking of key initiatives through various operating rhythms such as WBRs, MBRs and ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Special Projects: Take on ad-hoc projects that are critical to the company's success.

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in a highly analytical and fast-paced environment, such as management consulting, investment banking, a strategy/operations, or finance role in a high-growth environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills. You are comfortable with data and can use it to build compelling business cases and drive decisions.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end problem-solving. You have a history of taking a project from an initial idea to full implementation.
  • High-achiever with a relentless work ethic. You are comfortable with the demands of a high-growth, high-stakes environment.
  • Structured and logical thinker with the ability to quickly get up to speed on new industries, products, and challenges.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. You can distill complex information into clear, actionable insights for an executive audience.
  • A desire to transition from a purely advisory role to a hands-on, operational leadership position. You are looking to build and grow a business, not just analyze it.
  • A passion for logistics, AI and technology is a plus

What's in there for you:

  • An opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing companies, where you’ll have the chance to create a global impact while being a part of a  thriving multinational environment
  • Daily catered lunches incl. vegetarian options, breakfast, snacks and soft drinks available in our office on daily basis
  • Commute expenses: Flexport will cover  home-office commuting costs for employees living outside of Amsterdam
  • 25 working days as vacation days based on full time employment.
  • Health insurance: Flexport offers a collective health insurance plan including a basic package and any available additional packages. Your monthly premium is fully paid by Flexport.
  • A defined pension contribution scheme
