Overview

The Retail Go-To-Market Operations team is at the forefront of defining the future of connected retail. We are the team responsible for bringing Instacart's innovative in-store technology to life across our retail partners' stores, and driving adoption from day one. Within this organization, the Growth & Innovation pillar owns the lifecycle of high-impact initiatives across our launched store portfolio — from identifying operational gaps and testing solutions, to scaling what works across our network.

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Sr. Associate to join the Growth & Innovation function. In this role, you will support the design and execution of pilot programs and growth initiatives that improve quality, increase order volume, and enhance in-store workflows for our retail partners. You will work across multiple workstreams, coordinate with cross-functional teams and field partners, and help keep a fast-moving innovation engine running smoothly. This is a high-execution role with real visibility, sitting at the intersection of operations, experimentation, and strategy.

If you are someone who thrives on making complex operations feel simple, uses data to spot what's not working and takes action to fix it, and wants the opportunity to grow into program ownership — this is the role for you.

About the Job

  • Support the design and execution of pilot programs aimed at improving quality, increasing order volume, reducing costs, and enhancing in-store workflows for our retail partners.
  • Collaborate with Product, Retail, and Data Science teams to test, validate, and help scale successful operational innovations across our network of launched stores.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic frameworks used to identify and evaluate new growth opportunities and address operational process gaps.
  • Track the impact of initiatives against established KPIs, help synthesize results, and support reporting to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven experimentation within the team and broader organization.
  • Travel to support on-the-ground observations and experimentation, working directly in stores to understand operations and provide hands-on support in rolling out initiatives.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, program coordination, business strategy, or a related field in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift frequently.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to design experiments, analyze results, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to completion.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align partners across various departments.
  • A strategic and innovative mindset with a passion for identifying new opportunities and solving complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining operational workflows, trackers, and documentation that keep cross-functional teams organized and accountable. You default to creating structure, not waiting for it.
  • Experience in retail operations or in-store programs.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and through competing priorities. You build a process where none exists, stay steady when multiple workstreams need attention at once, and know how to move forward without waiting for perfect information.
  • Experience with performance metrics and KPIs, such as increasing order volume and maintaining high store associate satisfaction
