ABOUT THE ROLE
Accela is seeking an experienced and motivated Sr. Accountant to join our Accounting team. This is a key role to drive an efficient and accurate monthly financial close process. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in accounting operations, month-end close, and managing complex projects.
We’re looking for a collaborative team player with a positive attitude, creative problem-solving skills, and strong attention to details. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams is essential.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare journal entries to support close activities, including but not limited to prepaids, fixed assets, intangibles, accruals, intercompany transactions, etc.
- Perform reconciliations for responsible accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to US GAAP.
- Conduct flux analysis and provide insights on variances.
- Partner with external tax firm to file various returns and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of various supporting schedules and analyses for internal and external reporting, tax, and audit processes.
- Assist in documenting internal processes/controls as well as identifying actionable insights and suggest recommendations to address issues and improve processes/efficiencies.
- Collaborate and serve as a liaison to other departments on accounting matters with cross functional impact, identify areas for improvement and solve problems.
- Support accounting integration activities and other projects assigned.
- Support AP team and international team when needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Thorough understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience
- Public accounting firm experience or CPA is a plus
- Experience with NetSuite or other large ERP system
- Experience with multi-currency and multi-entity books
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Copilot
- Ability to multitask, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment
- Promotes teamwork and works well with other members
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and positive attitude

COMPENSATION AND WELL-BEING
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000 - $120,000. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to an annual base salary, this role is eligible to earn commissions.
