As a Software engineer, you will be responsible for building the tools and systems to scale hotels launches worldwide with a focus on supply growth. You will design and build product and platform features to achieve our goals. You will help define and maintain a culture of craftsmanship and excellence. You will represent the engineering team with global cross-functional partners.
A Typical Day:
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to understand requirements, prioritize work, and scope projects within your team’s roadmap.
- Build services and new APIs to hotel tools and onboarding workflows
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code to build backend services and platform capabilities.
- Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to operational excellence by improving runbooks, monitoring, and rollback readiness.
Your Expertise:
- 3+ years of experience in a hands-on software engineering role in backend/full-stack development.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master/PhD’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in one or more JVM-based languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
- Experience building backend systems or services in a service-oriented or distributed systems environment.
- Passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality and system quality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Your Location:
This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
