Lyft's Infrastructure team is passionate about building software to solve problems at massive scale. Within Infrastructure, our Developer Workflows team accelerates engineering workflows from source code to delivery, empowering developers to efficiently read, write, build and test high-quality code. We are looking for engineers to help us scale the foundational systems that every engineer at Lyft relies on for productive development.
Our team provides standardized infrastructure that enables software developers to move fast while maintaining the flexibility they need to innovate. We focus specifically on eliminating friction in critical workflows: source code management, local development environments, CI pipelines, code review processes, and artifact management. We directly impact engineering productivity through intelligent tooling, AI-powered automation, and seamless developer experiences.
As a Software Engineer on the Developer Workflows team, you'll build infrastructure solutions that make development at Lyft faster, more reliable, and more enjoyable. Responsibilities:
- Design and build developer tools that accelerate workflows from local coding to production deployment, improving efficiency and reliability.
- Implement AI-powered automation for coding assistance, test generation, and CI failure analysis to optimize engineering workflows.
- Optimize GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and development environments for speed, stability, and developer productivity.
- Collect and analyze developer workflow metrics to provide actionable insights that drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and participate in on-call rotations to ensure smooth incident response and high system availability.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with developer tooling such as GitHub, CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI), containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, databases, and large-scale infrastructure challenges.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset. Experience with developer productivity tools, AI/ML integration, or infrastructure automation is a plus.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $108,000 - CAD $135,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
