The Social team supports the safe and compliant operation of Robinhood’s Social product, a social media platform operated by Robinhood Tape LLC. The team partners closely with Legal, Compliance, Product, Marketing, and Risk to establish supervisory structures that protect customers and uphold regulatory standards. Our mission is to maintain the integrity of Robinhood’s platforms by applying thoughtful governance, clear procedures, and proactive risk management across business lines.

As a Social Designated Principal, you will oversee the supervisory and compliance framework for Robinhood Financial (RHF) and Robinhood Securities (RHS) in connection with the Robinhood Social platform. You will lead the development and implementation of supervisory procedures, review moderation systems and automated controls, and assess regulatory risk across equities, options, futures, crypto, and event contracts. You will work closely with Social, Legal, Compliance, and Product partners to evaluate new features and ensure regulatory alignment prior to launch. This role plays a critical part in operationalizing risk controls and maintaining regulatory excellence as the product evolves!

This role is based in our Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Lake Mary, FL; and New York, NY office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Create and maintain supervisory procedures for RHF and RHS to meet regulatory requirements related to their involvement with the Robinhood Social platform
  • Review content moderation escalation cases and resolution processes to ensure compliance with applicable securities regulations
  • Define and manage blocklists of restricted terms, tickers, and assets; monitor user restrictions and recommend policy adjustments based on risk trends
  • Evaluate proposed product changes and automated systems, partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Product teams to assess regulatory impact prior to implementation
  • Develop requirements for machine learning models designed to identify content and trading risks early, and review employee, insider, and restricted person activity to ensure accurate complaint logging
  • Provide backup coverage to the Marketing Designated Principal as needed

What you bring

  •  FINRA Series 7 and 24 licenses (General Securities Principal)
  • Active Series 4 license (Options Principal), or the ability to obtain it
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with supervisory or compliance responsibilities, ideally related to digital content or public communications review
  • Experience evaluating digital content and trading activity for regulatory risk across asset classes such as equities, options, futures, and crypto
  • Knowledge of consumer protection regulations and securities rules applicable to retail brokerage and social communications
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to identifying, documenting, and mitigating risk
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Marketing partners
  • Alignment with Robinhood’s mission to expand access to financial markets and serve retail investors

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$140,000$165,000 USD
Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)
$123,000$145,000 USD
Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)
$110,000$129,000 USD
