Are you a fit?
Sounds awesome, right? Now, let’s make sure you’re a good fit for the role:
We are looking for a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will be a key driver in building resilient, scalable, and highly available systems; designing automation-first solutions, leading our migration to AWS, and empowering software engineers to move faster with less operational burden. You will work at the intersection of software engineering and operations, with deep ownership over cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform reliability.
Responsibilities
- Automation: Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
- Migration: Lead end-to-end migration of workloads to AWS while keeping current infrastructure stable and operational.
- Optimization: Build internal developer platforms and tooling that reduce administrative overhead and accelerate software delivery cycles.
- Architecture: Partner with development teams to architect secure, resilient, and highly available applications.
- WordPress: Own the hosting infrastructure supporting the WordPress site and its backends, ensuring uptime, performance, and security at scale.
- Availability: Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure system availability and rapid incident response.
Must-have Skills
- Minimum 8 years deploying and operating high-traffic, scalable web applications in production.
- At least 5 years hands-on with AWS Serverless services (Cognito, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB).
- Proven mastery of TypeScript and AWS CDK for infrastructure definition and automation.
- Advanced scripting skills across Linux/Unix environments using Shell, Python, Ruby, or similar languages.
- Expert knowledge of CI/CD tooling (both native AWS services and third-party platforms) including pipeline design and Git workflows.
- Experience defining Multi-Account cloud strategies based on SDLC best practices using Amazon Organizations.
- Hands-on exposure to application and infrastructure monitoring platforms.
- Practical experience with FinOps: pricing calculators, cost forecasting, and billing optimization based on usage metrics.
- Ownership mindset: you treat the reliability and performance of systems as a personal responsibility.
- Collaboration-first approach: you document, communicate, and build shared understanding across teams.
Nice-to-have:
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Security by default: you design with least-privilege, defense-in-depth, and compliance in mind from day one.
- Continuous improvement: you proactively identify inefficiencies and drive meaningful change.
- Developer empathy: you measure success by how much faster and more confidently other engineers can ship
