We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead a website migration from an existing CMS (Hubspot, Sitecore, other) to WordPress. The ideal candidate has strong experience migrating content, templates, workflows, and forms between platforms, as well as skills in WordPress development, front-end technologies, and data integrity management. This role requires a high attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication.
Travel for team and client meetings is required, typically up to 15%.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and execute the end-to-end migration of an existing CMS (Hubspot, SiteCore, other) website to WordPress.
- Export and migrate all content, including landing pages, blog posts, media assets, menus, redirects, and structured data.
- Rebuild and/or redesign templates, modules, and page layouts to align with the current site design or new specifications.
- Migrate CMS forms to WordPress
- Recreate workflows and automation logic where needed.
- Optimize site structure for SEO, performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
- Configure WordPress environments, themes (custom or builder-based), plugins, and security settings.
- Implement 301 redirects and maintain URL structure to prevent SEO loss.
- Conduct QA, testing, and troubleshooting across browsers and devices.
- Train internal team members on the new WordPress infrastructure if required.
- Provide documentation of architecture, plugins used, and technical considerations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience migrating websites from a CMS to WordPress.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, MySQL, and WordPress theme/plugin management.
- Experience with modern page builders or custom theme development (e.g., Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery, or custom-coded).
- Experience with CRM integrations and marketing automation workflows.
- Understanding of SEO best practices and analytics tools (Google Search Console, GA4, etc.).
- Experience configuring hosting environments and deployments (e.g., WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudways, cPanel).
- Ability to manage project timelines and communicate progress clearly.
