This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the architecture and efficiency best practices used across SoFi engineering, building mission-critical visibility tools that empower developers to scale innovation efficiently. If you are a seasoned engineer with a passion for cloud technologies and a desire to enhance the performance and cost-effectiveness of foundational systems, we invite you to help fuel SoFi’s next generation of financial offerings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and efficient cloud solutions.
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest and normalize granular billing data, integrating system performance telemetry with cost metrics to provide a single source of truth.
  • Build intuitive, scalable utilization and cost observability solutions that track key cloud efficiency metrics, empowering developers to see the direct financial impact of their architecture.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and software engineers to integrate solutions seamlessly into cloud environments.
  • Implement sophisticated tagging strategies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure 100% of cloud resources are accurately mapped to business units and products.
  • Build and Operate agentic AI solutions to analyze efficiency and utilization data, provide insights and drive optimization strategies.
  • Write high-quality software solutions, including automation scripts and custom tooling, to proactively identify and eliminate cloud waste and process inefficiencies.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years software development experience.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms including AWS, and cloud native technologies.
  • Strong programming fundamentals (Java, Kotlin, Python, Go).
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, microservice architecture and best practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and practices.
  • Experience with container orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), Networking and service meshes (e.g. Istio).
  • Experience with workflows (e.g. Temporal, Apache Airflow, Cadence).
  • Expertise in AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code) and building agentic workflows to automate cloud governance, using AWS Bedrock, RAG patterns, and MCP is a plus.
