The Capacity Engineering and Analysis (CEA) team’s mission is to ensure Robinhood’s cloud infrastructure is cost-effective, scalable, and efficient for every engineering team. As guardians of cloud efficiency, the team builds systems that empower our engineers to understand, manage, and optimize their AWS usage.
As a Senior Software Engineer on CEA, you’ll have the opportunity to design and deliver foundational infrastructure systems that impact the entire engineering organization. You’ll collaborate with peers across teams to influence cloud strategy, identify optimization opportunities, and drive real cost savings. It’s a high-impact role on a growing team at the center of how Robinhood scales!
This role is based in our Bellevue, WA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems that analyze and optimize AWS cloud usage
- Drive large technical initiatives from conception to delivery with a strong focus on long-term impact and maintainability
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure and product engineers across Robinhood to reduce inefficiencies in cloud resource usage
- Partner with finance and platform teams to enable visibility and accountability for cloud spend
- Build tools and dashboards to help teams visualize and understand their infrastructure costs
What you bring
- 5+ years of software engineering experience working on backend or infrastructure systems
- Proven success in building or maintaining systems that impact cloud cost efficiency at scale
- Experience working with AWS services and strong familiarity with cloud architecture principles
- Practical knowledge of cloud cost management strategies (e.g., FinOps, cost observability, usage analytics)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse technical teams

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones.
