The Team: AI Frameworks and Services (AIFS)

Have you ever wondered what powers the intelligent features behind modern identity experiences? The AI Frameworks and Services (AIFS) team sits at the heart of Okta’s efforts to enable AI-driven innovation across Auth0 and beyond.

We design and maintain the foundational frameworks, SDKs, and platform services that empower engineers to integrate AI capabilities into identity products. From building developer tools that streamline the creation of GenAI-powered customer experiences to designing secure and scalable frameworks for AI agents, our work bridges product development and cutting-edge AI infrastructure.

The AIFS team collaborates closely with Machine Learning, Platform, and Product teams to deliver trustworthy, performant, and extensible services that unlock new ways for developers to build with identity and AI.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer on the AI Frameworks and Services team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing the systems, frameworks, and tools that power the next generation of AI-driven identity experiences at Auth0.

You’ll contribute across multiple layers of the stack, working with modern languages and frameworks like TypeScript, Node.js, LangGraph, and MCP, while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver developer-centric solutions that are scalable, secure, and easy to adopt.

This is a high-impact role for engineers who are passionate about building foundational services that make complex AI capabilities accessible to product teams and developers.

What You’ll Do

Design and implement high-quality features and services across the stack using technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, LangGraph, and MCP.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to enable Auth for GenAI and agentic AI features in a scalable, secure way.
Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and implementation planning for frameworks that integrate AI into developer workflows.
Drive continuous improvement in reliability, performance, observability, and developer experience across AI-related systems.
Contribute to infrastructure and tooling that simplify the integration of AI services, improving velocity and consistency across engineering teams.
Provide thoughtful code reviews and mentor junior engineers to elevate engineering quality and practices.
Document designs and best practices that help the broader engineering community leverage AI frameworks effectively.

What You Bring

Proven experience building and maintaining complex distributed systems or developer frameworks, ideally supporting AI or data-driven applications.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, with experience designing APIs (REST/gRPC) and scalable service architectures.
Familiarity with modern AI frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., LangGraph, DSPy, MCP, or similar).
Experience working on projects involving CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tooling.
Ability to drive design discussions, make technical tradeoffs, and deliver reliable solutions in ambiguous environments.
Strong collaboration skills and experience working closely with product, platform, and security partners.
A passion for developer experience and a desire to simplify how teams integrate AI into products.

Nice to Have

Experience with identity, authentication, or authorization systems.
Familiarity with cloud AI ecosystems (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI).
Exposure to frameworks for AI agent orchestration or developer-facing SDKs.
Experience optimizing system performance for latency, scalability, and reliability.
Contributions to open-source projects or internal developer frameworks.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:

$130,000—$194,000 CAD
