Roblox

Senior Product Manager, User Lifecycle (Discovery & LiveOps)

at Roblox

San Mateo, United States

Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.

At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.

A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.

The Role:

Join Roblox’s Discovery organization to build a user lifecycle that helps people find their next great experience, come back for the moments that matter, and deepen connection across the platform. You’ll own the strategy and roadmap for LiveOps discovery, key lifecycle surfaces like SEO and the Experience Details Page (EDP), and New User Onboarding improvements that accelerate time‑to‑first‑play and long‑term engagement. You’ll report to the Product Lead, Ecosystem Growth — Discovery, and partner closely with Engineering, Data Science/ML, Design, Marketing, and Policy.

You will:

  • Accelerate new‑user pathways to first play, self‑expression, and social connection by shaping the first‑time user experience (FTUX) and adjacent Discovery flows that drive rapid activation and long‑term retention.
  • Grow off‑platform organic discovery by improving ranking and presentation for experiences, marketplace items, and genres—strengthening SEO/AEO entry points, quality signals
  • Standardize Content Affinity Actions across Roblox so people can save, collect, and revisit experiences and items – partnering closely with App Navigation & Information Architecture (IA) to make these patterns intuitive and consistent across platforms.
  • Redesign key UIs and refactor backends on the Experience Details Page (EDP) to unlock speed, reliability, and reduce friction from discovery to play.
  • Evolve our approach to human curation – presentation formats, ranking, and content pipelines – to spotlight novel, strategic, and seasonal content that keeps users engaged by showing the breadth and depth of the platform.
  • Define the metrics that matter – designing experiments to iterate quickly and rigorously toward measurable impact.
  • Lead through influence by aligning Data Science, Design, Engineering, Machine Learning, Marketing, and Creator partners around clear narratives, crisp decisions, and accountable pacing—turning ambitious ideas into durable impact at scale.

You have:

  • 5+ years of product management experience building discovery‑adjacent products (e.g., recommendations, merchandising, SEO) with measurable impact on growth and retention
  • Proven experience improving onboarding/FTUE to reduce time‑to‑first‑value and increase long‑term engagement
  • Strong analytical toolkit: opportunity sizing, prioritization frameworks, and rigorous experimentation design
  • Demonstrated ability to align executives and cross‑functional teams through data‑backed narratives and clear decision frameworks
  • Cross‑functional leadership across Engineering, Data Science/ML, Design, Marketing, Partnerships, Legal, and Policy
  • Experience in at least one of: UGC, social, or gaming ecosystems; understanding of creator incentives and marketplace dynamics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate strategy into clear specs, mocks, or wireframes
  • A high degree of independent drive and ownership.
