Overview
The Shopping Experience team is responsible for the end-to-end consumer journey for a single retailer across Instacart’s app, web, and white-label experiences—from storefront through the order status page. We also oversee key horizontal and 0→1 efforts including Family, Health, Meals/Recipes, Incentives UX, Shopping Lists, and Buy Now.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the Order Experience: the critical surfaces and capabilities for cart, checkout, and the order status page. You will guide the product vision and roadmap for these transactional flows across both Instacart and our white-label retailer apps, partnering closely with 15 engineers, 1 data scientist, and 1 designer, as well as cross-functional partners in payments, operations, and support.
This role is a high-impact opportunity to improve conversion, average order value, and post‑checkout satisfaction while simplifying complex experiences for consumers and retailers. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love rolling up your sleeves with design and data, and want to ship experiences used at scale, this is the role for you.
About the Job
- Own the roadmap for cart, checkout, and order status page across Instacart and white‑label retailer apps, defining strategy, goals, and success metrics tied to conversion, AOV, and post‑checkout satisfaction.
- Lead product discovery and specification—partnering with design to deliver intuitive, accessible experiences and with engineering to ship high‑quality, reliable releases on time.
- Instrument analytics end to end; design and run experiments; synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights to inform prioritization and iteration.
- Collaborate with payments, risk, fulfillment, retail, and support teams to ensure compliant, performant, and trustworthy transactional flows (e.g., taxes, fees, promos, substitutions, delivery timing, order updates).
- Balance platform consistency with retailer customization needs for white‑label experiences, enabling scalable configuration without fragmenting core user journeys.
- Drive 0→1 and horizontal initiatives across Family, Shopping Lists, and Incentives UX to create a cohesive shopping foundation from storefront through order completion.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience building consumer-facing products, including 3+ years in e‑commerce, marketplace, or on‑demand services.
- Proven track record shipping and iterating transactional flows (e.g., cart, checkout, order tracking) at scale with measurable impact on conversion and/or AOV.
- Proficiency with product analytics and experimentation (e.g., SQL and/or tools like Amplitude; designing and interpreting A/B tests and multivariate experiments).
- Experience partnering with engineering, design, and data science to deliver multi‑quarter roadmaps with 10+ engineering collaborators.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, quantitative, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building white‑label or B2B2C platforms, including multi‑tenant configuration and retailer‑specific requirements.
- Strong UX sensibility with the ability to create or critique wireframes and flows; familiarity with accessibility and performance best practices for checkout.
- Background collaborating with payments, risk, tax, and compliance stakeholders for secure and compliant transactional experiences.
- Demonstrated success leading 0→1 product development from concept through launch and iteration.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, highly cross‑functional environments with evolving priorities and high expectations.
