What the Role Is
As the Senior People Operations Generalist, you'll be the senior-most People team presence on the ground at our Columbus Fulfillment Center in Commercial Point, OH, supporting a seven-day, multi-shift operation and 350+ hourly team members. You'll work Monday–Friday onsite, with either an early shift (4:00am–12:30pm) or late shift (2:00pm–10:30pm) based on operational needs and your preference. This schedule allows you to provide consistent HR presence during peak operational hours, partner with supervisors during shift changes, and support team members across our fulfillment center's around-the-clock operation. You'll also be on call to address time-sensitive issues that arise outside your core hours, plus have the flexibility to provide coverage for early mornings or late nights when operational needs require additional support.
Your day-to-day will include a mix of frontline HR execution, floor presence, and leadership coaching. You'll handle sensitive team member concerns, conduct investigations, manage leaves and accommodations, and facilitate onboarding and offboarding with professionalism and empathy. You'll also own payroll operations for the site and maintain compliance through regular audits and documentation. Just as important, you'll educate and coach operational supervisors and assistant managers, helping them strengthen their leadership skills and confidently manage the full team member lifecycle—using People Ops as a strategic partner, not a bottleneck.
This role requires a proactive, judgment-driven HR leader who can operate independently, stay calm under pressure, and communicate with clarity across all levels. You'll balance empathy and accountability while empowering others, making real-time decisions and shaping long-term practices. You'll be a visible, approachable presence on the Fulfillment Center floor and a deeply connected collaborator with the broader People team across locations.
If you've thrived in fast-moving fulfillment environments, handled complex people issues, and love coaching frontline leaders toward better outcomes, this role will energize you.
