Senior Manager, Fulfillment Learning & Development
At Flexport, we’re transforming global logistics — and that transformation starts on the warehouse floor. As Senior Manager, Fulfillment Learning & Development, you’ll architect the programs that shape the knowledge, safety, and skills of thousands of associates across our fulfillment network.
This role is foundational to our strategy of building a world-class operations team. You’ll design, deploy, and scale best-in-class onboarding, training, safety, and development mechanisms — from Day 1 through long-term career growth. Your work will ensure every associate and frontline leader is equipped to execute safely, consistently, and with operational excellence.
What You’ll Own
🚀 End-to-End Onboarding & Training
- Launch a best-in-class Day 1 New Hire Orientation, building a consistent foundation across all sites.
- Create a progressive Day 1–30 training schedule aligned to site readiness, role complexity, and productivity milestones.
- Build and scale a Train-the-Trainer and Ambassador Program to drive peer mentorship, skills transfer, and cultural onboarding.
🦺 Safety, Compliance & Process Audits
- Standardize and maintain all safety training content and certifications (PIT, OSHA, ergonomics, etc.).
- Design and implement audit mechanisms (e.g., polybag compliance, receive audits, pick/pack quality).
- Collaborate with site and network safety teams to embed a proactive safety culture and drive compliance ownership.
📘 Knowledge & SOP Management
- Own and scale Flexport’s Confluence-based knowledge library, including training guides, process videos, and role-specific SOPs.
- Build a dynamic Critical Roles Matrix that maps required skills, certifications, and cross-training pathways by site and role.
- Create and govern Manager Standard Work checklists to ensure leadership consistency in daily execution.
📊 Learning Systems & Capability Development
- Own the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensure accurate tracking of certifications, completions, and training history.
- Develop Tier III Development Mechanisms that prepare high-performing associates for leadership pipelines.
- Analyze data and performance trends to optimize learning velocity, identify bottlenecks, and improve program ROI.
⚙️ Tools, Tech & Mechanism Implementation
- Act as the business owner for L&D tools, including LMS, mobile onboarding experiences, and digital training delivery.
- Partner with Product, IT, and Ops Excellence to launch tech-enabled learning solutions (e.g., videos, QR-coded SOPs, interactive tools).
- Pilot new formats such as gamified assessments, just-in-time microlearning, or video walkthroughs at stations
What You Bring
- 8–10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Operational Training, or Workforce Capability within fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
- Deep experience building and scaling training programs for large, distributed hourly and frontline populations.
- Familiarity with safety programs (OSHA, PIT), audit mechanisms, and compliance training.
- Experience designing and managing content libraries and knowledge systems (Confluence, SharePoint, or similar).
- Expert-level project management and cross-functional leadership.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
