The SPACE org (Security, Privacy, Assurance, and Corporate Engineering) is launching a Compliance Engineering team to prepare Reddit’s platforms for evolving regulatory requirements. We’re building products that establish the foundation of trust in the Reddit platform, while partnering closely with teams across the company to ensure our platforms and features meet the highest standards. Engineers on this team will thrive in dynamic, ambiguous problem spaces and work across multiple domains and technology stacks.
What You’ll Do:
- Shape the future of Reddit by adapting our platforms to an evolving privacy, security, and regulatory landscape
- Partner with product, design, and engineering teams across the company to build trusted, compliant experiences for millions of users
- Join a highly visible team where you’ll influence both technical and product strategy, and help define an entirely new product space
- Own product areas and shape strategy end-to-end: from technical design and coding to testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that are critical to Reddit’s business and platform integrity
- Raise the bar for engineering by improving workflows, setting standards, and mentoring the next generation of engineers
Qualifications for this role:
- 5+ years of post-internship, full-time, hands-on professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience with one or more front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular or Lit (preferred), along with utility-first CSS approaches like Tailwind
- Familiarity with building and consuming APIs (GraphQL, REST, HTTP) and ability to design maintainable interfaces
- Strong understanding of web performance, including rendering performance, bundling, caching strategies, and responsive design
- Knowledge of web components, accessibility standards and internationalization
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver projects on schedule
- BS degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission.
