We craft premium footwear and apparel using natural materials, all designed to support the everyday to-and-fro. We believe the industry needs fewer gimmicks and more intention—and that starts with every experience we create. This is a 6-month contract with the potential to be hired into a full-time role. 

Where we need help

We’re searching for a Senior Designer — Content & Growth with deep experience in paid media and a strong command of AI-driven creative tools. You’ll help shape and scale the visual expression of Allbirds across all digital touchpoints—from performance marketing campaigns to on-site experiences to rapid, scrappy content capture. This role sits on a small but highly collaborative design team that moves quickly and embraces experimentation.

What does the job entail?

  • Partner with the Creative Director, Art Director, and Growth Marketing team to concept and design digital assets for paid social, display, programmatic, and mobile campaigns, ensuring brand and performance goals align.
  • Lead scrappy, real-world content capture—both still and motion—including the ability to quickly create iPhone-driven content, DIY tests, and fast-turn experiments alongside more polished shoots.
  • Leverage AI and digital tools for ideation, image generation, rapid prototyping, and iterative design, helping the team work smarter and faster while exploring new creative possibilities.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and cross-functional partners to translate design intent into high-quality digital experiences.
  • Jump in wherever needed—this is a highly collaborative environment where everyone contributes.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • 7–9 years of professional design experience, with a strong focus on digital and performance marketing creative.
  • Experience working in or with e-commerce, DTC, or growth-oriented brands preferred.
  • A portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital storytelling, performance ad creative, and responsive design.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and motion tools a plus.
  • Strong typographic, layout, and systems-thinking skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted image creation and design workflows (e.g., Sora, Midjourney, Firefly, Runway) and the ability to integrate AI outputs into polished creative.
  • Strong understanding of paid media formats, specs, and best practices across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and display.
  • Comfortable with scrappy, fast-turn content creation—someone who’s not afraid to pick up an iPhone, improvise, experiment, and capture what’s needed without a big production.
  • Curious, proactive, self-directed, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.

 

What do we offer?

This role is a 6-month contract with the potential to transition into a full-time role. 

The pay range for this role is: $50 - $60 per hour, and must be performed in our Portland, OR corporate office. 

Allbirds routinely evaluates pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other considerations.  We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location, skillset, experience and peer compensation.
