What on earth is KarmaLab? Great question. Reddit’s KarmaLab is a creative organization that acts as a revenue driving engine for the company. We are a conduit between brands and Reddit culture, helping advertisers understand how to show up on Reddit to effectively reach their goals. In simple terms, we are Reddit’s in-house creative strategy team - an inclusive team of wonderful people with a potent mix of disciplines, trying our best to have a good ‘ol time while delivering results for advertisers–and revenue acceleration for Reddit–on this wild ride we all call “the internet”.
Location: New York or New England area
What you’ll do:
- Build creative strategies, invent ad concepts and campaign ideas that balance the needs of our advertising clients with the tastes of our audience.
- Write concept pitches, RFP responses and communications that embody Reddit’s sensibilities across our growing automotive advertiser base.
- Translate client value propositions into strategies, language and visuals that Redditors find appealing and actionable.
- Inspire, educate, and drive client action through narrative-driven presentations and digital or IRL workshops that convey Reddit’s Business proposition.
- Act as a creative consultant and platform expert to Reddit’s auto clients
Who You Are:
- You have a deep knowledge of Reddit, its language & communities (bonus points for solid karma).
- You love to solve brand challenges, light up a room (or Zoom) with your passion for Reddit, and are a keen listener.
- You enjoy working side-by-side with Sales teams on a daily basis to strategically grow the business.
- When it comes to advertising, you innately know the difference between r/FellowKids and r/Fellowkidssuccess.
- You’re a collaborator with powerfully persuasive written & verbal communication.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, scrappy, deadline-driven environment and believe that “no job is too little or big”.
- You demonstrate creative flexibility & curiosity…you approach new challenges, clients, verticals and markets with equal enthusiasm.
- You have a talent for visual storytelling and presentation.
- You have a passion for both retail and beauty brands, and the creative possibilities associated with solving their business challenges.
- You see opportunities through the lens of both Reddit communities and a brand, creating something wonderful in the space between.
- You keep a book/portfolio of creative work that champions your brilliant thinking.
Minimum qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in advertising, PR, media, and/or social media–platform experience a plus.
- Experience working in partnership with Sales teams.
- Experience pitching concepts to clients virtually and IRL.
- Proven understanding of the relationship between creative agencies, media agencies & brands.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Proficient in Google Slides.
- Portfolio of previous work.
Preferred qualifications:
- Creative Strategy experience at a social media platform.
- Previous experience working on retail/beauty clients.
- Media (integrated marketing or creative strategy) and/or creative agency experience.
- Experience writing professionally for the internet–blogs, articles, social media.

Pay Transparency:
This job posting may span more than one career level.
In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and will also be eligible to receive a commission.
