We are looking for a Senior Copy Editor with a strong foundation in financial and investment concepts to ensure the highest standards of quality, clarity, and compliance across content deliverables.
In this role, you will be responsible for editing and proofreading content used across multiple channels, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory and brand guidelines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and play a key role in maintaining editorial excellence in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
This is a hybrid role based in CDMX or Guadalajara, combining onsite collaboration with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Copyedit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, accuracy, consistency, tone, and regulatory compliance.
- Update and refine content, including statistical and financial data, ensuring accurate display across formats and channels.
- Monitor and apply compliance language updates, ensuring consistency across all materials.
- Verify facts, figures, and financial data to ensure error-free deliverables.
- Recommend edits based on audience needs and content objectives.
- Apply and maintain editorial standards using AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, and internal brand guidelines.
- Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all content.
- Support workflows and contribute to the growth and structure of the Content Specialist function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including content, compliance, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality output.
Must-have Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of experience in professional copyediting or proofreading roles.
- Advanced English level (written and spoken), with exceptional command of grammar, syntax, and clarity.
- Working knowledge of financial and investment concepts (mandatory).
- Strong experience applying editorial style guides, including AP Style and The Chicago Manual of Style.
- Proficiency in markup and editorial review processes.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues, escalating when necessary.
- Proven experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Experience with Workfront or similar project management tools.
- Background in the finance industry or other highly regulated sectors (e.g., legal, pharmaceutical).
- Familiarity with AI-powered editorial tools and content automation technologies.
