Prototype Vehicle Build Technician

About the Role

Our Prototype/Manufacturing  team is growing and we are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to help disassemble and reassemble vehicles, execute engineering experiments on vehicles, support the prototyping of new projects through builds and testing performance. Document testing results to support process development through collaboration and reviews. The technician will assist the engineers for the pilot builds and provide feedback to help improve quality, efficacy, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability and cost. Work closely with a diverse team of technicians & engineers with a focus on collaborative approach on day to day tasks.

About the Work

• Assemble and deploy various components for Prototypes and OEMs
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and document serials for traceability
• Use Oracle or (IFS) for step x step build instructions. Will train on the system.
• Disassembling the interior and exterior components of a vehicle, including door panels, bumpers, dashes, and headliners.
• Fit and configure our custom hardware
• Complete the final assembly of the vehicle

About You

• Effective communication and can adapt to the changing needs.
• Detail oriented, highly organized, with a passion for learning.
• Automotive experience.
• Possesses strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with automotive equipment.

Bonus Points 

• Power Tool experience.
• Knowledge of Linux and Jira.
• Slack and google suite.
• Experience working with High Voltage, EVs, or Autonomous Vehicles.
• Electrical assembly, test, or manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
• Experience in SAP.

 

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position the reasonably expected base hourly rate is $40 per hour. Offers are based on an individual’s experience, education, location, and skills.
