Project Manager – Cleared (Salesforce Federal Delivery)
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Hybrid (US-based, strong preference for DC Metro Area). In-person expectations include visits with customers, Salesforce offices, and to Thunder offices in Tysons Corner, VA.
Role Summary
The Project Manager (PM) plays a key leadership role in driving the successful delivery of Salesforce solutions within Federal environments that require an active security clearance. This role is accountable for managing scope, schedule, budget, and compliance requirements while partnering with stakeholders and delivery teams. As part of Thunder’s Federal Delivery practice, the PM ensures alignment between mission objectives, contractual requirements, and Salesforce delivery best practices.
Core Pillars
- Project Leadership & Execution – Lead Salesforce Federal projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and compliance requirements.
- Stakeholder Management – Partner with cleared Federal stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and risks.
- Agile Delivery – Support sprint planning, backlog tracking, and risk management across cleared project teams.
- Compliance & Reporting – Ensure project documentation, deliverables, and reporting meet Federal standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage Salesforce Federal project delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget.
- Serve as primary point of contact for cleared Federal stakeholders, facilitating communication and alignment.
- Oversee Agile ceremonies, backlog prioritization, and risk mitigation activities.
- Track project performance metrics and provide regular reporting to Federal clients and internal leadership.
- Ensure project documentation and deliverables comply with Federal standards, including security and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, BAs, and QA resources to ensure project success.
- Escalate risks and issues proactively and implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of IT project management experience (preferably Salesforce).
- PMP, CSM, or SAFe certification preferred.
- Experience managing projects in cleared Federal environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex delivery environments.
- Active Security Clearance required (Secret or higher).
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Travel required, as necessary.
