The Databricks Professional Services team accelerates our customers' outcomes and platform adoption through expert delivery, enablement, and innovation. As our customers scale their use of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, our mission is to guide them through the evolving data and AI landscape with speed, precision, and strategic insight. Our team includes architects, data scientists, engagement managers, and program leaders united by the pursuit of excellence, and the desire to build the most capable Data and AI services team in the industry.
About the Role:
We are hiring an AI Tooling Program Lead to lead the design, development, and rollout of AI tools and workflows across the Databricks Professional Services (PS) organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical program leader who thrives at the intersection of product thinking, fast experimentation, and field impact.
You will identify high-leverage AI use cases within PS, develop proofs of concept using the Databricks stack and/or third-party tools, and work closely with delivery and operations teams to scale solutions that improve the quality, efficiency, and speed of how we serve our customers.
This role will be based in India and will work closely with engineering partners to drive rapid iteration and implementation.
The Impact You Will Have:
AI Tooling Ownership & Execution
- Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across PS workflows (e.g., scoping, delivery execution, QA, proposal support)
- Build and iterate on AI-powered internal tools and workflows using Databricks, Python, SQL, and relevant APIs
- Evaluate, integrate, and extend third-party AI tools when appropriate
- Drive roadmap planning and execution, from prototyping to production-scale adoption
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure tools are intuitive, reliable, and widely used
Program Leadership & Implementation
- Help shape the direction for AI tooling within Professional Services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, field delivery, operations, and leadership) to align use cases and implementation strategy
- Lead workshops, feedback loops, and onboarding sessions to drive adoption and iteration of tools
- Ensure tight feedback cycles and continuous measurement of tool impact
What We Look For:
- 5+ years of experience in a technical program, product, or solutions engineering role
- Proven ability to build internal tools, workflows, or automations that drive business value
- Hands-on experience with data and AI tooling (e.g., LLMs, copilots, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines)
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ideally Databricks notebooks and platform features
- Ability to balance speed and quality, comfort with MVP-style builds and iterative improvement
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
