at Roblox
San Mateo, United States
Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.
At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.
A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.
As a Product Designer on the Design Acceleration team, you will be a key individual contributor responsible for designing the innovative internal tools and systems that revolutionize how Roblox's design organization works. Our team is focused on evolving the systems and processes which power Roblox’s design organization through scalable systems, AI integrations, and custom tooling.
You will focus on the user experience (UX), interaction design, and visual design (UI) of our custom tooling, including Figma plugins, web applications, and AI-powered workflows. Your designs will ensure the tools that our Design Engineers build are intuitive, frictionless, and drive velocity for our designers and engineers. You must have deep empathy for creative workflows and a passion for turning complex technical systems into elegant, simple products for our internal teams.
You will:
- Lead the end-to-end design process (user research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity mockups) for our suite of internal design acceleration tools, such as Figma plugins, custom utilities, and internal web applications.
- Partner deeply with Design Engineers to translate complex backend services, APIs, and AI models into intuitive, coherent user experiences that solve critical workflow bottlenecks.
- Conduct user research and gather feedback from designers and engineers across Roblox to deeply understand existing processes, pain points, and opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Define the interaction models, visual aesthetic, and accessibility standards for all internal design acceleration tools.
- Collaborate with AI Research and Core Engineering teams to ensure that experimental AI-driven features, such as natural language UI generation, are integrated through a seamless and trustworthy user interface.
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap by identifying high-leverage areas where new tooling and UX improvements can significantly boost design velocity and consistency.
- Report to the Manager of Design Acceleration.
You have:
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer focused on designing complex software products, with a preference for experience on internal or professional tools.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in end-to-end product design, including mastery of user research, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.
- Expert proficiency with design and prototyping tools like Figma, and demonstrated experience in creating and applying design systems.
- Experience designing tools for technical users (e.g., developers, design engineers) or creating user interfaces that manage complex data and system workflows.
- Excellent ability to articulate design decisions, provide and synthesize constructive feedback, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- (Nice to have) Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts and experience designing workflows that leverage generative capabilities.
- (Nice to have) Experience designing for platform ecosystems, such as plugin or extension architectures.
