The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Intern to join our Legal team for approximately three months in the summer of 2026. The Legal Intern will sit within our Privacy Legal team and own projects supporting privacy strategy and compliance for Superhuman Platform Inc.’s global privacy program (including for Grammarly, Coda, and Superhuman Mail offerings). This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience with cross-functional business stakeholders (such as engineering and product) and legal stakeholders (such as commercial legal, litigation, and product legal). Superhuman is a growing AI-focused company, and this Privacy Legal Intern will have a unique opportunity to see how the Privacy Legal team functions within such an organization.

As Superhuman’s first Privacy Legal Intern, you will help collaborate cross-functionally on some of our most complex and impactful legal questions. In this role, you will:
  • Work on at least one end-to-end legal challenge directly related to Superhuman’s high-level goals and priorities.
  • Develop expertise in business problem solving, legal issue spotting, and assessing legal risk for complex privacy issues.
  • Gain exposure to global privacy laws and experience navigating and balancing complex privacy regulations against business needs.
  • Perform legal research, analyze findings, document actionable findings, and give oral presentations of your findings to internal partners.
  • Partner with dedicated mentors to research, analyze, and advise on projects you will own throughout your internship.
  • Collaborate with a friendly team of legal professionals to get exposure to various in-house legal practices in addition to enterprise contracting, such as product counseling, intellectual property, commercial counseling, litigation, and employment counseling.
  • Leverage your unique perspective to provide feedback on legal strategy and risk management.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Is a current 1L with a demonstrated interest in privacy, security, and AI.
  • Can collaborate in person at least once a week in our San Francisco hub throughout the internship.
  • Brings a problem-solving and detail-oriented approach to their work, a track record of excellent organizational skills, and unfailing follow-up to effectively manage multiple activities of varying difficulty, priority, and complexity.
  • Demonstrates the ability to independently move projects forward by gaining support from others while working in a cross-functional role.
  • Brings an entrepreneurial drive and comfort working in ambiguous, quickly changing environments.
  • Has a strong sense of accountability and integrity, taking ownership of projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Is a great communicator and has a service mindset that empowers others to hit their goals.
  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.

Compensation

The expected pay for this position is $38.00 USD/hour and may be modified in the future.
