People Partner Specialist

Position Overview

As a key member of the People Operations team, the People Parter Specialist within the Shared Services team is responsible for supporting managers and employees with general HR inquiries, possesses knowledge of HR policies, and provides guidance on employee lifecycle processes and situations. A key responsibility is to triage incoming inquiries and issues, document them accurately, and route them to the appropriate HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) or People Partner team when specialized support is required.

This role is critical in maintaining efficient People Operations by ensuring inquiries are handled promptly, accurately documented, and directed to the appropriate resources when escalation is required.

The People Operations team ensures that every Five9 employee has a great experience. This includes capturing comprehensive employment data, which enables the team to provide HR resources and documentation and resolve employees' specific HR questions as they arise. We pride ourselves on achieving operational excellence across every service we provide and achieve this standard by optimizing HR business processes, guaranteeing HR data integrity, and using that information to inform down-stream processes and data-driven insights

Key Responsibilities

HR Support & First Point of Contact:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers for general HR inquiries, including HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provide guidance and consultation on common HR topics such as leaves, benefits navigation, payroll inquiries, onboarding, offboarding, compensation, internal mobility, and employee data updates.
  • Collaborate with People Operations to promote self-service HR tools and ensure employees’ access key HR resources.
  • Ensure timely responses to HR tickets, service requests, and inquiries.
  • Manage assigned HR requests through the HR service management platform.
  • Ensure timely responses and resolutions for employee support and HR ticket requests.

Employee Relations Intake & Triage:

  • Serve as the first point of review for all employee relations and workplace concerns, conducting the initial intake to understand and document the core issues.
  • Gather relevant information and document cases accurately in the Employee Relations management system.
  • Assist people leaders to resolve a variety of HR issues, including performance management and accommodation requests, escalating to the People Partner team when necessary.
  • Ensure all employee concerns are handled with confidentiality and professionalism.

People Partner team and COE Support:

  • Provide operational support with People Partners, Centers of Excellence (COEs) and global partners to help deliver seamless human resources processes, programs and insights across the organization, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
  • Support People Partners in executing People initiatives and specific business unit or regional needs.
  • Ensure internal HR processes, such as Employee Status Change Forms and HR tickets, are completed accurately and within defined service level agreements.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of employee interactions and cases, ensuring a clear and complete record.
  • Provide analytical support to the People Partners with quantitative and qualitative data in support of strategic HR programs and initiatives.  Run ad hoc reports to enhance metrics, identify trends, and support data driven decision making for business units.
  • Partner with HR Operations and HRIS teams to ensure data accuracy.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources generalist, HR Operations, or HR support roles
  • Experience working with a global matrixed team, with understanding of US employment practices. Working knowledge of employment practices in Europe, India and the Philippines is a plus.
  • Experience working in a service-oriented or shared services environment preferred.
  • Experience with HR systems such as UKG, FreshService, or similar case management platforms is a plus.

  • Ability to assess issues and determine when escalation is required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
