How will I use AI at Roku?

At Roku, we don’t just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability. We’re looking for curious, adaptable builders who can show how they’ve used AI or automation to move faster, raise the bar, and scale their impact.

We value your AI skills if you have built fluency across the agentic engineering toolchain — coding harnesses like Claude Code or Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks. And you can describe projects where you shipped real work with these tools. You know how to drive an agent, verify its output, and ramp on an unfamiliar codebase with an agent helping you.

What are the responsibilities of the role?

  • Own end-to-end manufacturing operations for assigned products across their lifecycle, from NPI and industrialization through production ramp, mass production, sustaining operations and end of life
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for product manufacturing performance, integrating production, quality, materials, capacity, cost, supply continuity and delivery to meet business objectives
  • Lead cross-functional execution across Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Materials, Planning and contract manufacturing partners, partnering with and driving the Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) operations team in planning and executing development builds and new product ramps
  • Drive manufacturing strategy and operational readiness, including supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes, test infrastructure, material availability and volume ramp requirements; plan production capacity and lead the factory equipment budget
  • Own build readiness (clear-to-build) tracking, driving gates and open actions with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Logistics
  • Own product-level production planning and execution commitments, aligning factory output, demand requirements, inventory strategies and supply plans to ensure reliable product availability, and own material execution at the ODM and key suppliers, including component availability and inventory accuracy
  • Drive resolution of manufacturing constraints, quality issues, component shortages, engineering changes and supply disruptions, coordinating cross-functional recovery plans and trade-offs
  • Hold the ODM accountable for corrective actions and sustainable improvements, and coordinate ODM implementation of engineering changes, process qualifications and manufacturing improvements, ensuring execution meets approved technical and quality requirements
  • Establish and manage product manufacturing KPIs, including yield, quality, throughput, cost, capacity, inventory, schedule attainment and on-time delivery, with regular performance reviews, and own the daily factory report and build status: a single, executive-ready view of builds, yield, material and issues, shared on a fixed schedule
  • Lead operational risk management and decision-making across the product lifecycle, escalating early with options and owners and balancing customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, cost, quality and schedule, with clear governance and escalation paths with the ODM
  • Influence product manufacturability, testability and supply chain responsiveness in pursuit of low cost and flexibility while championing quality, and drive continuous improvement, manufacturing optimization, supplier performance and cost-reduction initiatives to improve product competitiveness and operational scalability
  • Serve as the primary manufacturing operations interface for product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, communicating requirements, schedules, readiness, performance, risks, recovery plans and delivery commitments upward and downward, and raising key issues with options for resolution to executive teams

What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku?

  • Ability to work onsite in Shenzhen, with willingness to travel to factory and supplier sites, and occasionally to the US
  • 7+ years of experience in program or operations management working with contract manufacturers (CM), ODMs, and suppliers in Asia; experience with TV or consumer electronics manufacturing a big plus
  • Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, supply chain, and/or product development, with technical understanding of consumer electronics manufacturing (surface-mount technology (SMT), final assembly and test) and prior ODM management experience
  • Experience owning manufacturing KPIs, running supplier or factory performance reviews, and driving root-cause investigation and corrective actions with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Familiarity with NPI stage gates (EVT, DVT, PVT, mass production) and build readiness reviews
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, adapt quickly to new information and assess impact to programs, and work comfortably in rapid development cycles with challenging goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to present to management and write clear, concise status updates
  • Flexibility for early or late calls to overlap with US teams

What should I know about Roku's culture?

Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.

We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
