Role Description
As a Production Network Engineer focused on Dropbox’s Infrastructure organization, you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and operating the large-scale networking systems that power our global platform. You will impact areas such as datacenter, backbone, and edge networking, while also driving improvements in automation, configuration management, and telemetry systems to increase reliability and efficiency.
In this role, you’ll partner with domain experts, software engineers, and cross-functional infrastructure teams to eliminate single points of failure, strengthen resiliency, and scale our production environment to meet the needs of millions of users. You will gain exposure to complex, global-scale infrastructure projects, collaborate with senior technical leaders, and help shape the future of Dropbox’s production network.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and operate Dropbox’s global production network across datacenter, backbone, edge, and cloud networking
- Support operations and on-call coverage for the production network, ensuring high reliability and availability
- Drive automation initiatives for network configuration, monitoring, and change management
- Develop and improve network telemetry and observability systems to enhance visibility and reliability
- Partner with global SMEs, software engineers, and operations teams to deliver scalable and secure infrastructure solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (traffic, physical infrastructure, security) to support end-to-end network initiatives
