Music Project Coordinator (Contract)

As a Music Project Coordinator (Contractor) at Riot Games, you’ll be part of the team that brings Riot’s music vision to life across our IPs. You’ll help drive regional music initiatives, facilitate collaboration between internal teams and external partners, and ensure projects move smoothly from concept to execution. Whether you’re supporting A&R efforts or coordinating legal workflows, you’ll do it with a deep love for music, strong communication chops, and a player-first mindset.
This is a contractor position based in Shanghai, working closely with both global and regional Riot teams. You'll report into the Music Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and track regional music projects, syncing regularly with game product managers and creative stakeholders.
- Coordinate vendor-related processes, including procurement, legal clearance, and onboarding.
- Provide creative input and direction in A&R efforts; support artists and collaborators throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a liaison between Riot teams and external music partners to align on creative vision and execution.
- Support global and local music strategies that resonate with players and enhance Riot’s IP.
- Facilitate bilingual communication and documentation across English and Chinese-speaking teams in a fully bilingual working environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the music or games industry, preferably in production, project coordination, or music licensing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional creative or production projects.
- Solid understanding of music copyright, licensing, and legal workflows.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort working with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
- Passion for Riot’s IPs and a well-developed personal music taste across genres.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in a bilingual, multicultural environment.
- Familiarity with Riot’s music output or similar large-scale entertainment IPs.
- A creative mindset paired with an understanding of business processes and constraints.
- Prior work in artist relations, music production, or A&R roles.
