We are looking for an experienced Marketing Operations Specialist to design, build, and optimize complex marketing automation workflows and scalable multichannel solutions. This role requires strong expertise across marketing automation platforms to drive operational efficiency through systems integration, ensuring accurate and high-volume campaign delivery, while stabilizing, optimizing, and scaling automation workflows across the marketing technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, code, and deploy complex multi-step marketing journeys and automated workflows using platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and other marketing automation tools.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize automation workflows, resolving failures in live campaigns and high-volume marketing operations.
- Create and maintain advanced personalization logic using AMPscript, SSJS, and conditional content to improve customer experience and reduce manual processes.
- Design and optimize complex SQL queries, segmentation logic, and data extensions to support personalized and scalable campaigns.
- Support API integrations and automated data synchronization across marketing platforms and customer data ecosystems.
- Own end-to-end automation logic, including dependencies between journeys, data flows, and execution systems.
- Migrate and transform legacy workflows into scalable and maintainable automation solutions.
- Execute and support QA validation processes for dynamic content, personalization rules, and campaign targeting accuracy.
- Implement and maintain technical standards for automation builds, email templates, and data handling processes.
- Monitor email deliverability performance, IP health, and compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other applicable regulations.
- Identify technical debt and automate recurring manual processes to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor automation system performance and ensure platform stability and reliability.
- Partner with stakeholders and CMS L4 teams to evaluate technical feasibility and estimate automation requirements for new initiatives.
- Document custom code, automation architecture, and operational processes.
- Provide technical mentorship and operational guidance to Junior Analysts.
- Manage and configure business units, tracking parameters, and platform settings within SFMC and related tools.
Must-Have Skills
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), HubSpot, or similar.
- Expert-level experience with SFMC Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Business Unit configuration.
- Strong proficiency in AMPscript and SQL.
- Experience building and managing complex multi-step automations in SFMC Automation Studio.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and Data Extensions.
- Hands-on experience supporting API integrations and automated data synchronization.
- Strong understanding of marketing data architecture and platform interoperability.
- Technical knowledge of IP warming, Sender Authentication Package (SAP), and DNS records.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex automation failures.
- Strong attention to detail and operational ownership mindset.
- Experience improving workflows through automation and scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a logic-driven approach.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Proficiency in SSJS (Server-Side JavaScript).
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer Certification or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of Python for advanced data manipulation and automation use cases.
- Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and identity resolution systems.
- Experience with Git, version control practices, and release management processes.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale marketing ecosystems and high-volume campaigns.
- Prior experience optimizing deliverability and automation governance frameworks.
- Experience mentoring junior team members or providing technical enablement.
