At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.
Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here.
As an Engineering Manager I on Pinterest’s Growth AI Products team, you’ll lead a group of engineers building AI-led products and capabilities that drive top-of-funnel growth. You’ll ship user-facing experiences and AI-powered content representation improvements, partnering closely with product, design, analytics and ML teams. You’ll also align with our logged-out data intelligence and experimentation platform to ensure strong measurement, iteration and responsible rollouts.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team delivering AI-led growth products that improve how Pinterest content is represented, surfaced and converted in top-of-funnel experiences.
- Own planning and execution for the team’s roadmap, turning goals into clear milestones, sequencing and resourcing decisions.
- Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, Data Science and ML teams to define opportunities, set success metrics and deliver measurable growth impact.
- Drive AI-led innovations that improve content understanding and representation, including GenAI-based title and description enhancements and AI-assisted keyword and intent generation that power scalable landing experiences.
- Establish launch readiness standards for AI-powered features, including evaluation approach, quality guardrails, rollout strategy and post-launch iteration.
- Improve team operating cadence by using AI to accelerate planning, synthesis and documentation workflows, while applying judgment and verification to ensure correctness and quality.
- Build strong cross-team execution with the logged-out data intelligence and experimentation platform, ensuring new launches are measurable, comparable and easy to evaluate for stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, including experience in building and shipping large-scale user-facing products (ideally 100M+ users or equivalent high-traffic surfaces).
- 1+ years of experience in people leadership, including coaching engineers, supporting growth and driving accountability through clear expectations.
- Experience in leading ambiguous product spaces, forming a point of view, aligning stakeholders and turning strategy into execution.
- Experience in delivering AI/ML-powered product capabilities in production, including setting quality bars and partnering effectively with ML, data science and analytics counterparts.
- Experience in working across functions and teams to align priorities, manage dependencies and deliver outcomes with shared measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in your day-to-day workflow for relevant outputs, with a clear approach to validating accuracy and quality.
- Strong track record of critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work (e.g., testing, source-checking, data validation, peer review).
- High integrity and ownership: you protect sensitive data, avoid over-reliance on AI and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverables.
