Manager I, Engineering - Cloud SIEM - Security Case Management
at Datadog
Lisbon, Portugal
Cloud SIEM is a fast-growing security product that helps organizations detect and respond to threats within their cloud infrastructure. It provides real-time visibility into cloud security events and alerts, enabling organizations to quickly identify and respond to potential threats.
The Security Case Management team is a new team within Cloud SIEM that will be responsible for building the foundation of Datadog’s security response experience. Our mission is to make Datadog competitive in the SOAR space by integrating and evolving the Cases product into a core pillar of security response within Datadog. This includes enhancing case workflows, enabling seamless automation through Datadog Workflows, and delivering rich collaboration features that empower analysts to investigate and respond to incidents efficiently and at scale.
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll build and lead this new team’s formation and direction, driving both the technical vision and working closely with Product to develop the strategy for how Datadog customers manage, automate, and resolve security cases. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and partner teams across Cloud SIEM, Security, and Workflows to deliver a cohesive and powerful response experience.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage, grow, and lead the fullstack Cloud SIEM App team, directly managing 3-6 engineers
- Collaborate with the other Cloud SIEM teams, Product Management and Product Design to build the best Cloud SIEM product
- In this hybrid role, you’ll spend ~half your time on management, and the rest doing hands-on technical work (Tech Stack: Python, Go, React, Kubernetes, …)
- Ensure that team processes and practices are aligned with Datadog's engineering standards and best practices
- Participate in code and design reviews to ensure that the team is delivering high-quality software
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and incorporate new and innovative ideas into the Cloud SIEM product
Who You Are:
- A Software Engineer at heart with a passion for solving technical problems and a previous experience (2-3 years) leading software engineering teams, as a tech lead or people manager
- Strong technician, particularly with Python, Go or React, who is interested in remaining a hands-on leader
- Excellent leader with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing teams while collaborating effectively with product partners to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices, coupled with a passion for technology, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- You are interested in the security space and as a bonus may have professional experience with security products
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
