We are looking for a versatile and experienced Lead Product Marketing Manager to join our Product + Portfolio Marketing team and own high-impact programs that move the business forward, from product growth to strategic messaging to targeted campaigns. This role ensures our marketing efforts align with customer needs, market trends, and the evolving data and analytics industry. As part of the Product Marketing team, you will lead GTM strategy and execution across launches, narrative and content, demand generation, and sales enablement, partnering closely with Product, Sales, Enablement, Demand Generation, Partner Marketing, and Design to showcase Fivetran’s capabilities for our personas: data engineers, data leaders, and developers. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves to strategically lead and own, and consistently turns ambiguity into impact.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Oakland, CA or Denver, CO offices. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team

What You’ll Do

  • Messaging and content creation: Create and edit compelling marketing content including blogs, datasheets, presentations, and customer-facing materials that clearly communicates Fivetran’s value. Write and edit product-specific materials, ensuring messaging resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences. Support the Content team on developing product thought leadership and educational efforts with content for channels like our webpages, social accounts, and speaking engagements. 

  • Business-moving programs: Propose and own programs that span product growth, strategic messaging, and targeted campaigns. Connect the dots across initiatives to create cohesive narratives and measurable business impact; propose creative solutions that advance company-level OKRs. 

  • GTM strategy & execution: Develop and own comprehensive go-to-market plans for new product launches and existing product growth, ensuring we hit our product adoption and marketing pipeline goals. Ensure alignment with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Product, Enablement so that everyone is effectively executing against the launch timeline.

  • Customer and market insights: Lead research efforts on market trends, customer needs, and product capabilities to refine product positioning and messaging. Work closely with Product and Field Sales teams to understand features and use cases. Incorporate findings into content like case studies, pitch decks, sales enablement, and digital ads. Analyze product launch and campaign performance and do research to shape GTM strategies.

  • Customer, market & competitive intelligence: Lead/support research efforts for specific topics, through win/loss analysis, customer insights, etc. and synthesize insights into positioning, content, and GTM bets. Proactively surface trends and opportunities to Marketing leadership. Partner with AR/PR on thought leadership. 

  • Cross-functional leadership: Lead complex, multi-team programs and manage up, across, and out to drive decisions and momentum. Present data-backed recommendations to senior stakeholders and, when needed, ELT. 

    • Cross-functional product support: Partner closely with Product Managers to understand product features, roadmap, and target use cases, translating technical details into clear and compelling marketing messages.

    • Cross-functional campaign support: Work closely with Demand Generation, Regional Marketing, Account-Based Marketing, and Partner to develop the strategy behind individual marketing campaigns and events and ensure alignment with business goals and PMM research.

    • Cross-functional sales enablement support: Support sellers and sales enablement with enablement content to help position and sell Fivetran effectively. 

  • Project management excellence: Develop and manage quarterly marketing plans, defining goals, timelines, and key deliverables. Lead GTM activities for programs, ensuring effective communication and execution. Track and analyze campaign performance, refining strategies based on results. Regardless of the stakeholder, proactively communicate key milestones and deliverables across teams to ensure seamless execution.

  • Measurement and continuous improvement: Define metrics of success for your programs, using product and sales data for insights. Run experiments and institutionalize learnings into repeatable frameworks and processes for the broader team.

  • Process building and mentorship: Identify gaps, propose solutions, and formalize scalable PMM processes. Mentor peers and raise quality standards across content, launches, and execution.

Skills We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in data and analytics, or B2B SaaS. 

  • Data industry knowledge: Familiarity with data integration, cloud platforms, and analytics trends is required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling messaging for diverse audiences. Skilled writer, storyteller, and public speaker who can translate technical depth into business outcomes for different audiences.

  • Content and messaging creation expertise: Proven ability to craft authoritative narratives and high-impact assets (ex. web, one-sheets, decks, etc.) that drive demand and adoption and to edit others’ work for consistency and quality.

  • Highly-organized with an excellent project management track record: Strong planning and execution across multiple, complex initiatives with proactive risk management and regular communication of milestones and outcomes.

  • Cross-functional leadership: History of aligning Product, Sales, and Marketing to deliver results. Adept at influencing senior stakeholders/ELT to drive decisions efficiently. 

  • A customer-centric approach to marketing: A deep understanding of customer needs and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Within the range, individual compensation is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, business need, market demands. Oakland Pay Range
$189,420$236,775 USD
