The Role:

The Product team at Carrot Fertility is seeking a Lead Mobile Product Designer to help shape our newest mobile app experience focused on helping our members build and sustain healthy habits. In this role, you'll be the design lead for a product that helps members improve their metabolic fertility health by creating experiences that inspire consistent engagement and lasting behavior change.

You'll own the end-to-end design process for the native mobile app, translating insights and strategy into high-fidelity designs that delight users and drive repeat engagement. This is a hands-on role where you'll craft the visual and interaction design, maintain our mobile design system, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to bring the product to life.

The Team:

You’ll report to the Senior Director of UX and work closely with a Content Design partner, Product Manager, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to design and launch new features.

In this role, you will…

  • Help lead mobile app design from concept through execution, creating polished, high-fidelity designs for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Drive engagement and retention by designing intuitive, delightful experiences that motivate users to return daily and build lasting, healthy habits.
  • Deeply understand complex problems for our customers, members, and internal teams and come up with solutions that meet business goals, technical constraints, and user needs.
  • Contribute to our established design system, advocating for accessibility, design consistency, and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with a Content Designer to create cohesive, compelling experiences that blend visual and written communication seamlessly.
  • Conduct user research, using qualitative and quantitative insights to drive your strategy and design decisions.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to translate user needs and business goals into elegant solutions, providing detailed specs and supporting implementation
  • Advocate for users through the entire product development process, balancing user needs with technical constraints and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other designers and stakeholders, actively seeking and providing feedback through design critiques, engineering reviews, and workshops.
  • Help shape and influence our design team’s culture, process, and future vision of our products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of product/UX design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating mobile-first work
  • Deep expertise in native mobile app design for both iOS and Android, including platform-specific patterns and guidelines
  • Proven track record designing for engagement and retention, ideally in apps focused on habit formation, behavior change, wellness, or similar domains
  • Strong visual and interactive design skills with experience with accessibility standards and mobile app design best practices.
  • 2+ years of experience with Figma
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with content designers, product managers, and engineering teams
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to articulate design rationale, with the ability to build consensus, drive alignment, and influence leaders in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to iterate quickly based on feedback and new requirements.
  • Both high-level strategic thinking and close attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare or health tech experience
  • Experience with behavior change frameworks or gamification
  • Experience with designing AI products and features
  • Sensitivity to the challenges of fertility health and family forming around the world.
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices for mobile
  • Background in user research or usability testing
