Lead Full Stack Engineer, Payments

You will be part of the Payments Engineering Team. The Payment Engineering team is responsible for the financial side of employer sponsored health benefits. The team builds apps and services to handle the entire process, from invoicing to auditing to payments. What you'll do:
- Build the software systems that our payments teams use to manage of billions of dollars of transactions
- Lead end-to-end development of services across the stack, from backend to frontend
- Design and develop scalable, secure and configurable services
- Participate in the ongoing architecture and development of our payments platform
- Collaborate with product managers, other engineers, and teams across the company to solve complex real-world problems
- Participate in team projects, from understanding the challenges we are solving for to proposing and implementing solutions
- Drive architectural decisions and champion reusable patterns for cloud-native, AI-enabled systems
- Mentor other engineers and influence best engineering practices in system design, testing, and continuous delivery
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Experience 8+ years of working as a full stack engineer
- Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining complex systems
- To be well-versed in technologies such as Java & Spring with a strong understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience building frontend features in React/Angular even if not your primary focus
- Experience working hands on with native cloud capabilities with AWS/GCP
- Hands-on experience with data architecture, SQL/PostgreSQL
- To enjoy working with a team of awesome collaborative co-workers
- A desire to use and drive AI-enhanced development tooling like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or WindSurf as part of your regular development workflow
- Ability to clearly communicate up, down and across teams
Pay Transparency Statement
This is a hybrid position based out of one of our offices: Plano, TX, or Lehi, UT. Hybrid employees are expected to be in the office two days per week.#LI-hybrid
The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
