The Internal Audit function provides independent, objective, reliable, and timely assurance regarding the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls that mitigate current and emerging risks. Our mission is to strengthen Robinhood’s internal control ecosystem and promote operational excellence across the business. The Internal Audit team works closely with regulated entities and corporate functions, facilitating effective communication with leadership, the Board of Directors, and its Committees.
As an Internal Audit Senior Associate, you’ll support the execution of audits related to compliance and operations across Robinhood’s broker-dealers, registered investment advisor, and derivatives businesses. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to evaluate risk, improve processes, and enhance the company’s control environment!
This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA, New York, NY, or Chicago, IL offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
- Support audit execution for compliance and operations across broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, and derivatives businesses in line with the Internal Audit plan
- Evaluate the adequacy and efficiency of internal policies, procedures, systems, and controls
- Conduct walkthroughs and perform testing of controls and substantive audit procedures
- Build collaborative relationships with business teams and cross-functional partners
- Analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations that strengthen the control environment
- Collaborate with Internal Audit team members to contribute to departmental initiatives and goals
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
- 3+ years of audit experience in the financial services industry
- 2+ years of experience in compliance or operations
- Strong knowledge of compliance-related processes and regulatory expectations within financial institutions such as broker-dealers or investment advisors
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a commitment to high-quality work
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt in fast-changing environments
- Experience in or exposure to auditing or working within broker-dealers, registered investment advisors (RIAs), or futures commission merchants is a plus
- Advanced degree, Big 4 audit or consulting experience, and/or certifications such as SIE, Series 7, Series 24, Series 99, CIA, CAMS, or CFE are beneficial but not required

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
