About the team
Our professional services team combines payments and financial expertise with experience integrating Stripe technology in thousands of projects. We help our customers create marketplaces, launch subscription businesses, expand globally, and more. This team provides critical implementation and post-launch services to help Stripe users maximize long-term value, quickly and confidently.
We are looking for an experienced Integration Engineer to join our Australia and New Zealand distributed team.
What you’ll do
Stripe’s Integration Engineering team is responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to our most strategic users while they are integrating with Stripe.
We’re seeking engineers with strong technical and business skills to drive high-quality integrations while accelerating time-to-live. Using first-hand customer knowledge, you will also impact product strategy, working with all parts of Stripe to ensure its offerings continue to satisfy its largest and most strategic users’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Be a trusted technical advisor to clients and project members to solve complex technical challenges, and establish credibility & build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within client organization
- Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architecture and other user-facing teams to drive client engagement, customer wins, and revenue on behalf of the Professional Services team
- Plan and execute integration engineering end-to-end, from high-level architecture down to code implementation
- Being able to think on your feet and comfortable talking about technical concepts, and explaining how Stripe works, both from a product feature and API architecture perspective
- Educate our users and the developer community about Stripe's value proposition, best practices and new technical developments
- Be the primary, ongoing technical point of contact for our largest users' and partners' technical teams
- Keep abreast of new Stripe technologies and software products and showcases technical thought leadership in whitepapers, conferences and other industry events
- Providing recommendations, feedback and best practices to the product and engineering teams
- Contribute to the development of Professional Services methodologies and tools to accelerate engagements and ease troubleshooting
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- At least 6+ years experience in an architecture (application, technical, systems, integration), technical consulting, process re-engineering or application delivery/technical engineering role
- Comfortable with various code-level debugging (Stripe code and user code)
- Be comfortable talking about technical concepts, and explaining how Stripe works, both from a product features and API architecture perspective.
- Experience with enterprise-level systems, including middleware, integrating with third-party APIs, and skills in systems flows, data/business object modeling, and use case/user interface production..
- A great verbal and written communicator, strong presentation skills, comfortable explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrates a keen sense of ownership, drive, and entrepreneurship, thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Able to accommodate light travel quarterly for customer on-sites and team meetings
