About the Role

Roku is accelerating its international expansion and is seeking a seasoned sales leader to drive advertising revenue, grow market share, and strengthen competitive positioning across markets outside the U.S. The Head of International Ad Sales Monetization will lead a hybrid go-to-market strategy, scaling both direct sales teams and third-party partnerships, while directly managing regional country sales leaders/teams responsible for individual markets. The business today spans a mix of mature and emerging markets, requiring both optimization of existing revenue streams and greenfield build-out.

This executive will bring deep expertise in global market dynamics, key players, and regulatory landscapes. They will have the executive presence to represent Roku at the highest levels, open doors, shape competitive positioning, and establish the relationships, processes, and operational cadence required to capture market share, maximize revenue, and deliver sustained growth. This is a pivotal moment for Roku internationally, with significant untapped demand for CTV advertising and an opportunity to define Roku’s leadership position in key global markets.

The successful candidate will be a proven commercial leader with deep experience in CTV/streaming, digital video, and programmatic advertising across multiple international markets, ideally including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and the UK. The individual should have a strong network among leading agencies, brand advertisers, reseller partners, and major ad tech platforms, and a proven track record of building and scaling revenue through both direct and indirect channels.

The ideal candidate is data-driven, strategic, and highly practical -able to translate market insights into clear plans, mobilize cross-functional partners, and execute with rigor. They can navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments, influence senior decision-makers, and develop narratives that resonate with the market. They will work closely with the US-based Sales team to align on global partnership strategies, including Media & Entertainment (M&E) partnerships, ensuring a cohesive approach across regions and driving scaled impact. They are comfortable in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, can switch between executive-level storytelling and hands-on deal support, and consistently deliver results. They are an experienced people leader who can coach, develop, and hold accountable market GMs or Heads of Sales.

For New York Only - The estimated annual base salary for this position is between $450,000 - $600,000, with additional equity. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you'll be doing

  • Own Roku's ad sales performance outside the U.S., delivering revenue and margin targets for Roku Media
  • Evaluate and prioritize new market entry opportunities, including go-to-market model selection, resourcing, and investment strategy
  • Directly manage regional market leaders, set goals, provide coaching, and lead weekly operating cadences and quarterly business reviews
  • Partner with country sales leaders to build and enable direct sales teams where Roku sells directly and manage reseller or representation partnerships where indirect channels are used
  • Develop and execute market-specific go-to-market plans, including pricing and packaging, inventory strategy, and positioning for agencies, brands, and programmatic buyers
  • Expand executive relationships across agency holding companies, leading brands, demand-side platforms, and key industry associations to strengthen Roku's presence in strategic forums and decision-making environments
  • Partner with Ad Marketing to refine market narratives and materials and contribute to industry events, Upfront/NewFront activity, and thought leadership
  • Work closely with Revenue Operations, FP&A, and Media leadership to forecast, track performance, and optimize pipeline, yield, and margin
  • Collaborate with Product, Measurement, and Engineering to inform monetization features, localization requirements, and measurement solutions needed in each market
  • Drive reseller performance through clear KPIs, enablement resources, incentives, territory planning, and regular business reviews
  • Ensure operational excellence in deal execution, including contracting, compliance, inventory allocation, billing, and measurement aligned to local regulations and market practices
  • Provide timely market updates to leadership, including risks, opportunities, competitive movements, and recommended actions
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams and sponsorship opportunities relevant to each region and scale successful approaches
  • Represent Roku in industry forums including IAB, ANA, 4As, and regional equivalents to help elevate Roku's profile and support CTV growth

We're excited if you have

  • 15+ years of ad sales leadership experience within CTV, digital video, or programmatic advertising, including meaningful experience across multiple international markets
  • Direct experience in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and/or the UK
  • Knowledge of the global media marketplace, including CTV, programmatic advertising, agency holding companies, DSPs, and measurement ecosystems
  • Success building and managing hybrid go-to-market models that combine direct sales with reseller or representative partnerships
  • Experience leading sales leaders across geographies and time zones with strong goal-setting, coaching, and accountability practices
  • A track record of structuring and closing large, multi-market or multi-year advertising partnerships
  • Credibility with senior agency and brand decision-makers and experience securing strategic partnerships
  • Strong forecasting, pipeline management, and yield optimization capabilities, with comfort owning a complex P&L
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Measurement, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to deliver monetization solutions
  • Excellent communication and executive storytelling skills, including strong written communication and external partner presentations
  • A global mindset and the ability to navigate local market dynamics, regulations, and cultural nuances
  • Multilingual capability, such as Portuguese and/or Spanish, is a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is a plus
  • Experience with AVOD, SVOD, PVOD, and TVOD business models is helpful
