The Role:
We're hiring a Group Product Manager to lead our award winning Invest product. In this role, you will own the product vision, strategy, and execution across our brokerage platform, from self-directed trading and account-level experiences to new investing capabilities that expand how members trade, manage, and grow their investments.
As a Group Product Manager, you will lead and have full ownership of significant parts of the SoFi Invest product suite. While hands-on product management will be part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you will spend a significant amount of time coaching and developing Product Managers on your team. You will guide them in devising strategies, honing their craft, and executing with both excellence and speed.
This role requires a product leader who combines strong product sense with deep brokerage expertise and proven people leadership, and who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments. You will partner closely with engineering, design, risk, compliance, legal, operations, and analytics leadership to bring complex trading products to market at scale.
Previous experience building world-class investing and brokerage products is a must.
What you'll do:
- Own and drive the product vision and roadmap for your Invest brokerage teams, spanning squads such as Trading, Account Experience, and Growth.
- Hire, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, raising the bar on craft, customer empathy, and execution across the group.
- Translate company objectives into actionable team goals and OKRs, ensuring strategic alignment between Invest priorities and broader SoFi business outcomes.
- Lead customer-focused product development from ideation to execution, ensuring the customer's voice guides scope and priorities across all squads.
- Partner deeply with engineering leadership to navigate architectural decisions and technical trade-offs in high-throughput, low-latency, and highly regulated environments.
- Advocate for robust technical roadmaps by understanding engineering perspectives, balancing technical debt, and collaborating on future-flexible architectures.
- Improve product performance by analyzing launch results and metrics, gathering feedback from customer-facing teams, sharing insights, and planning iterative enhancements that align with business goals.
- Ensure products and features are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality across the teams you lead.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and leadership, providing regular updates on product status, timelines, and blockers.
- Proactively contribute beyond your team's scope by developing and improving PM processes, frameworks, and standards that benefit the broader product organization.
How you work:
As a Group Product Manager, how results are achieved is just as important as what you deliver. In this role, your foundational knowledge, skills, and personal attributes are anchored in the following:
- Customer focus — You build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions. You ensure your teams stay grounded in member needs, especially when navigating complex regulatory and technical constraints.
- Teamwork and communication — You put the collective best together through documentation, collaboration, relationship-building, listening, and empathy. You recruit and develop talent that raises the bar for the whole org.
- Nimble learning — You actively learn through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning opportunities and you instill this mindset in your team.
- Planning and alignment — You break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions, stage activities with relevant milestones, and keep multiple squads moving in the same direction.
- Business insight — You apply knowledge of financial services, brokerage operations, and the competitive landscape to advance SoFi Invest's goals.
What you'll need:
- 10+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years directly leading and managing Product Managers.
- Proven track record leading the development of advanced brokerage or trading capabilities that require deep integration with execution systems, risk engines, and account-level controls.
- Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing PM talent.
- Experience defining and driving product strategy across multiple concurrent product areas.
- Demonstrated ability to coach PMs on craft, stakeholder management, and career development.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with engineering, risk, compliance, legal, operations, and analytics, to bring complex trading products to market.
- Comfort working with systems involving real-time decisioning, account state, permissions, limits, and suitability controls, and understanding how these systems surface in customer-facing trading experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to balance durable technical foundations with near-term product delivery, particularly when building capabilities that must scale safely over time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and regulatory complexity into clear product direction for diverse stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong technical fluency with APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and data-intensive services, with the ability to reason about performance, scalability, and failure modes.
- Experience with brokerage clearing, self-directed trading, or wealth management products.
- Experience with SQL, data exploration, product analytics tooling (e.g., Amplitude), and feature flagging / experimentation.
- Experience at high-growth fintech companies, in a founder or GM capacity is a plus.
- Experience building products in a highly regulated domain (e.g., fintech).
- Experience leading complex, cross-team initiatives from ideation to execution at scale.
