General Manager - Thunder Commercial 

Location: Remote (US-based)

Reporting to: Geoff Merrick (CCO)

Role Overview

Thunder is seeking a strategic and hands-on General Manager - Commercial to drive growth across multiple verticals, primarily Manufacturing (MFG) and High Tech, with ownership of all commercial industries. This role is a growth-focused leadership opportunity, responsible for developing Thunder’s Salesforce-aligned go-to-market strategy and working directly with Salesforce channel teams to drive revenue.

As a General Manager - Commercial, you will own industry revenue targets, shape Thunder’s presence in the Salesforce ecosystem, and build trusted relationships with Salesforce Core RVPs, AEs, and partner teams. You’ll partner closely with Thunder’s sales and delivery teams to co-sell, close strategic deals, and deliver impactful solutions that help customers solve their most pressing business challenges.

This is a high-impact role for a proven Salesforce ecosystem leader who thrives at the intersection of industry strategy, sales execution, and practice development. You’ll have the opportunity to build and scale a multi-vertical business line and position Thunder as the go-to partner for Salesforce in these industries.

Responsibilities

Sales & Salesforce Channel Growth

  • Drive top-line revenue growth across commercial verticals while ensuring margin health and sustainable business outcomes.
  • Manage sales execution and delivery alignment to produce strong financial performance that supports Thunder’s growth strategy.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with Salesforce Core RVPs, AEs, and partner teams, driving joint account planning and co-selling motions.
  • Identify, qualify, and close strategic Salesforce opportunities by aligning Thunder’s capabilities with Salesforce’s go-to-market strategy.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Salesforce and customers, helping position Thunder as a leading partner for industry-specific solutions.
  • Develop industry-specific use cases, solutions, and value propositions that resonate with customers and differentiate Thunder in the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with Thunder’s internal sales team to manage pipeline forecasts, shape proposals, and execute strategic deals.

Industry Strategy & Market Leadership

  • Lead Thunder’s multi-vertical commercial strategy, with emphasis on Manufacturing and High Tech, while expanding into additional verticals over time.
  • Provide market intelligence and insights to refine Thunder’s commercial offerings and Salesforce-aligned go-to-market approach.
  • Represent Thunder at key Salesforce and industry events, building credibility through thought leadership and networking.
  • Partner with marketing to create targeted campaigns and content that elevate Thunder’s presence within these industries.

Delivery + Client Success

  • Serve as an executive sponsor on high-profile client engagements to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Partner with delivery leadership to protect project margins while ensuring customer success and strong referenceable outcomes.
  • Ensure delivery teams are positioned to execute projects that drive measurable business value for clients.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of experience in consulting, business development, or sales leadership roles within the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce go-to-market motions and proven success co-selling with Salesforce Core RVPs and AEs
  • Strong expertise in Manufacturing and High Tech industries, with the ability to expand and drive growth across additional verticals such as Travel & Hospitality, Retail, and Media
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and taking industry-specific use cases to market
  • Proven ability to drive revenue, manage project profitability, and lead successful Salesforce engagements
  • Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Consultant, or Architect tracks) are preferred
  • Ability to lead hands-on while building strategy in a remote, fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience at a Salesforce partner or SI is highly valued.
