Overview

We are seeking a Financial Systems Senior Project Manager to serve as a hands-on, embedded delivery leader for the Financial Systems (FinSys) team. This role is responsible for driving day-to-day execution across financial systems initiatives, including running sprint ceremonies, managing delivery workflows, and coordinating cross-workstream efforts to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes.

This role focuses on internal-facing delivery rather than product development and aligns closely with an IT delivery and shared services operating model. The Project Manager will partner closely with systems leads, business stakeholders, and vendors to ensure work is well-planned, transparently tracked, and delivered efficiently.

In addition to delivery execution, this role will own coordination of Financial Systems projects and initiatives not led by Finance Transformation, providing clear accountability, structured governance, and consistent communication.

The Finance Systems and Solutions (FINSS) team owns the end-to-end lifecycle, governance, and evolution of technology systems that enables Finance across Instacart. We align deeply with Finance leadership to ensure that systems serve not just as tools, but as strategic enablers of insight, control, and growth.

About the Job

Delivery Execution & Project Leadership

  • Establish and maintain Agile execution and Jira standards, including workflows, ticket quality, reporting, and documentation.
  • Define and maintain team-level delivery metrics and dashboards to support data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain Ways of Working documentation to reinforce consistent delivery practices and team alignment.

Governance & Stakeholder Communication

  • Prepare and deliver governance materials, including internal review boards, Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and leadership updates.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for stakeholder communication, ensuring alignment across Finance, IT, and Systems partners.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to manage delivery within contractual and operational constraints.
